That's too bad.  The kid has been really good this year.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Hate to see that happen.  Occurs almost every season with some team.

Recurring trend right before we play them

Sure helped punch our ticket to last year's dance. Sucks for the kid but it's a theme I won't complain about.

Exactly this..sucks for the kid but if it helps MU..

Saw it happen.  It looked like he banged knees with someone from SHU and no worse...but then he went straight to the locker room, unaccompanied, presumably because of that unmistakable, gut wrenching pop.  Sucks.

Speaking from experience, it is more of a horrifying burning sensation.  The pop is usually when you've torn cartilage, which I've also done.

I've blown both ACLs.  No burn...but I knew.  Whatever it was with Krampelj, I'd say he knew right away.

I never cheer for opponent's injuries.  Plus, now when Marquette beats them, dimfair will say Creighton sucks and we didn't beat them at full strength.

Hopefully he can recover in time for next season. Hate to see any player go down.

Whats the timetable for his injury?

Maybe so, but it's still two Ws.

Looked to me like one of those "untouched" kind of injuries. Just came down and was immediately limping a bit. Never seems to be a good sign.

He tore his ACL.  He's done for the season.

That sucks.  Let's hope for a full recovery.  Kid is a damn good player.

Spotcheck Billy

He landed on some one else's foot which is usually just rolling your ankle but when he went to the locker room immediately I knew it wasn't a turned ankle. Tough luck for him hope he recovers for next year.

MarquetteBallin

Two years in a row Creighton has lost its most irreplaceable player.

Other guys might score at a higher clip than Krampelj, but he makes their offense lethal with his versatility and what he opens up.

Damn shame -- CU would've been dangerous in the NCAA tournament.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Feel for the kid. He was having an All-Conference type season for Creighton and came out of nowhere. Averaged 5.9 minutes a game last season. Hope he recovers quickly.

This leaves Creighton with a big size problem. They now only have one forward and one center on the active roster. Toby Hegner is tall but is not a post presence. He's a stretch four that has only grabbed 2.7 rebounds a game to date. Manny Suarez is a little bigger but a year ago was playing Division 2 ball. He's been the very last guy in their rotation and hasn't gotten into every game. Since conference play began, he's had three DNPs and four games with 5 minutes or less. All four games were blowouts and he only got garbage minutes at the end.

Gotta think they will end up going small in their starting 5 with 6"7 200 lb Ronnie Harrell lining up at the four and Hegner at the five. Give Suarez a few minutes or go ultra small with a four guard lineup  when Harrell or Hegner need a breather. Their next biggest player after Harrell is 6"5 205 lb freshman Mitch Ballock. They do have Jacob Epperson on redshirt at the moment. I don't think they burn his redshirt at this point but maybe they will be desperate enough.

Never cheer for an opponent's injury, but this does turn the home game against Creighton from a toss up to one where we are favored. It also makes the away contest winnable.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Epperson apparently injured his knee in practice recently so pulling his redshirt is not an option.

Also didn't realize that this was Krampelj's second ACL tear. He tore the other one his freshman season.

I believed that Creighton was MU's worst matchup, with Howard and Rowsey going against 6ft3's Thomas and Foster.  UGH..

But Creighton will have to re-group bit, with Thomas, Foster, Harrell, Ballock and Hegner.  Mintz is in mix, but if any of them get in foul trouble, their bench is very short now.  Krampelj was averaging 12/8 and will be surely missed.

Babybluejeans

That's really too bad. Dominic James' injury in 2008 still haunts me as a fan (oh, what could have been!). Hate to see it happen to other teams. Except the Philadelphia Eagles. Screw those guys.

Their guards are still damn good.  I wouldn't chalk up the W's, especially the one at Creighton, just yet.
