Hauser three reminded me of a play earlier in the season after a timeout. I think it was a called play be Wojo. The other team gets sucked into guarding Rowsey and Howard and Hauser sets up to take the three.

It sure looked like a set misdirection play to set up Sammy.  I thought it was an awesome call by Wojo to get Sam a wide open splash.  Such crisp movement and passing for a rhythm 3!

As fun as that win was, we did collapse in the second half and they played without their best player.  If I am Wojo I drill it hard into their heads how fortunate we were.  At times too much standing around to watch Markus do his thing.

Phenomenal performance by Mr. Howard.  He also has to fight the temptation to go overboard. Take what the defense gives you, don't force it because of last night's performance.

Cartwright is their best player and he went for 42 minutes.

I have a thought. How good would ASU be if Howard had stayed committed?

The "and one" on MH's last drive was atrocious.  Phantom.    Thank you make up calls.

Of all the god awful calls in that game, that is the one you found atrocious!?!?

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Are there any links to video postgame interviews with Howard, Wojo, etc?

wondering the same.  Couldn't find on youtube last night.

Markus AND Stan.

Or how about if Bobby Hurley got his 1st choice job...DePaul.

I think you're right. Watch the replay, and they're not doing typical man switches on Howard - they're hawking him all the way to midcourt. They drew a line in the sand (after 52 points) that they weren't going to let Howard beat them.

Providence: No one, but no one scores 53 points on us!  No one!  ;-)
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

You are 100% wrong on that not being a charge.  That exact type of play is a point of emphasis for refs this year, and the instructions for officials is that it is to always be called a charge.  The example plays used to instruct the refs on the point of emphasis is identical to that play by Elliot.

So I went back and looked at the play, and you are 100% correct that I was 100% wrong.  I completely mis-remembered it.  It was a good call.

Cartwright is their best player and he went for 42 minutes.

In the broadcast the announcers said Bullock, but those are always opinionated observations.  Bullock leads them in points, rebounds, blocked shots, minutes played.  Hard to argue he isn't their best player, or top 2 at worse.   http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/team/stats/_/id/2507/providence-friars

I'd say Bullock is their best player but Cartwright is the tougher matchup for MU.  Sam can match up well enough to contain Bullock but neither Andrew nor Markus can contain Cartwright.

As I posted in the other thread, Cartwright is their most important player.  He runs the team and there is a big drop off between him and Cartwright, and less of a drop off between Bullock and Jackson.
