We had a bad loss to DePaul (is there ever a good loss to them?) right around then - 2008 or 2010.  Was that the only conference game they won that year?

Yes, in 2010. The next year their only win was at Providence. DePaul went 2-52 in conference games for a three year stretch.

Last year they were surprisingly close to another 0-fer. Two wins by a combined 3 points over Providence and Georgetown. DePaul rallied from 9 down with 1:50 to play to beat Providence with the winning points scored on a Garrett layup-and-one with 4 seconds to play. At Georgetown they trailed by 4 with 1:03 to play before another rally led to Garrett sinking the winning free throws with 2 seconds on the clock. Pomeroy had both games as 95% loss probability with under 2:00 to play.

GT wouldn't have been up on BT 18 at the half if it didn't have some flash of talent. BUT...I saw the last quarter of the Syracuse game and they can not hold it together for a whole game. Syracuse wasn't good either. Opportunity to press them...they are a turnover machine when the pressure is on.

I say GT wins ~4 in BE.

Sounds like a recipe for some Cain/Elliott action

Last winless BE team was DePaul in 2009. Only team to go winless in BE play since MU joined the league in '05. Don't have the time right now to go back further.

Miami in 93-94...

Edited to add:  And Providence in Year 1 but they only played six games.

I had completely forgotten that Miami spent over a decade in the Big East.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I think DePaul won a BE tournament game in the 0-18 year.  3-55 in 3 years including BET.

Yup, knocked off Cincinnati at MSG for their only win that season after the New Year.

Northern Illinois is a 15 point dog to Iowa tonight. Seems like a good bet.

Looks like we opened up as a 9 point favorite. Let's get the W and cover!

Damn. Hope that drops down to 7.5 or 8 by tomorrow. 9 is a little much for me to bet. Seems about right.

Mr. Nielsen

My CBS Sports App, is showing MU -9.5

I saw that—and jumped on NIU.

I think the better option is Nova -6 at Butler tomorrow

Yep. Took WVU so I'm a net zero.

Is there any reason not to bet "the mortgage" with this?  Has anyone watched Georgetown this year?  I have a very hard time believing MU would not cover this spread.

That depends, have you watched any game MU has played against an Illinois team?

I've got them at Nova -5.
MU -9.5 thats a little stiff for me (nh).

mayfairskatingrink

Vegas consensus now seems to be MU -10.

At the Westgate, the line actually hit MU -10.5 for a while this morning but some decent money came in on Georgetown to take it back to MU -10, where it is currently.

MUBigDance

I'm not too into lines....but what was the line on the GT/Butler game?
