With the other silly posts going on, one thing we should all be able to agree on:

NOTRE DAME IS EVIL, AND MUST BE DESTROYED!

BE CAREFUL!  Marqptm got a bible waved at him last year when we went to ND.

That being said AMEN!

AMEN

And would like to nominate Doc Rivers' half court buzzer-beater as one of the greatest moments in this series.  Others may recall more fulfilling moments, but that one inflicted such pain on the Domers and is always brought up by their alums in re-hashing this testy rivalry.

The Jesuits have more pull.

GO MARQUETTE!!!!!!!!!!

If we're nominating greatest moments of the series, Novak's 3 point buzzer beater at the Al was one of my favorite moments.

I thought that was just a 2... But you're right, that was freakin' sweet.

Ready2Fly

It was a two-pointer from the baseline - so pure.  Pure in the way that only a Novak swish can be.

It was especially satisfying because the kid sitting in front of us in the student section from Notre Dame kept yelling about how everyone at Marquette wishes they went to Notre Dame but didn't have the SAT scores.  I had to restrain one of my friends the entire game.  Luckily Novak shut him up.

4thAndState

Right, Novak's shot was a 2. There was 1.1 seconds left on the clock and they stopped play to determine if it was a 3 or a 2. The shot happened on "my" end of the BC -- we were in Sec. 206. ND threw a 3/4 court pass that I believed we picked off. They never got the shot up. The 2 things I remember most about the Novak shot: Kyle McAlerney was guarding Novak, straight-up. He's like 6-2. The other was how the BC just exploded in sound when the shot went in. It was deafening; in a very good way.

I can only hope we see a great finish like that game. That was the best finish I ever experienced as a MU fan.

Sweet Jesus what a release...

Look at everyone's eyes in that picture, it's as if they all knew it was in when it left his hand

I wish Novak had unlimited eligibility

For us,  slightly older MU Warrior fans, the best ND memory is when Doc Rivers hit a almost half court shot to beat the Irish. I think it was 1979 or 1980.

Novak's shot brings a tear to my eye and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
Once a warrior always a warrior.. even if the feathers must now come with a beak.

TVDirector

Dean Marquardt having his way at ND in 80, or so.
one of the best games I'd ever been to.

I can still remember where I was when he hit that shot. Unfortunately,
I wasn't there.

And the worst moments, at least from my 80's era, David Rivers going end to end, pulling up, hitting the 17 footer in January '85, and the tip in by (IIRC) Dolan after David Boone, an 80%+ foul shooter missed the front end of a 1-1.    Heartbreak.    Novak's shot was so perfect, I actually misted up looking at that picture again.

Final score 54-52 Marquette.  Highlights: Dean Marquardt (15 points).  Glenn "Doc" Rivers scores a last-second shot from mid-court to win the game for Marquette.

I was at a wedding reception (bride and groom both were May '80 MU grads).  Small TV in the reception hall kitchen, surrounded by, mostly, guys grousing about the selection of wedding dates.  Mother of the bride not happy that the groom was more interested in the game than the girl.  One of my favorite Marquette hoops memories.
Ludum habemus.

You could see Novak's shot going in and thinking, no way, this is going to be awesome.  Another fun thing about that game was the ginormous snow storm that hit Milwaukee that afternoon.
