Actually the Vander comparison isn't bad.  Vander had higher usage, and Elllliottt shoots a little better, but my guess is that his usage is going to increase and his efficiency is going to decrease.

We probably look at Ellliotttt as a pleasant surprise, versus Vander as initially a disappointment, due to the former only playing a limited role (so far) and the hype surrounding their respective recruitments and commitments.

One of the middle-school girls I coached was by far the best 3-point shooter in our league. Not even close. She hit 10 as a 6th-grader, 10 as a 7th-grader and 9 as an 8th-grader (when she was asked to play PG and to drive more).

Seriously, that was dang impressive. All of 'em were dead-center-net swishes, too, and they were from nearly every spot on the perimeter.

It was only Chicago State, but if this was the game that got Markus rolling again, it was a very big game. Season pctg back over 40% despite his rough first few games.

In my first year, I called a time out in a lopsided game so we could work on a new inbound play we had installed in practice the previous day. But when the team got to the sideline, I forgot the play. Totally blanked. My most embarrassing moment as a coach.

Our defensive problems seem to stem from Howard and Rowsey not being tall enough. Were you able to coach height in any of your girls? Did any of them grow a few inches while under your tutelage? If you could literally "coach them up" about 3-4 inches, I'm sure the staff would appreciate it.

What does height have to do with their inability to stop dribble penetration.  I can see it having an impact on the entry passing but that is just one of the breakdowns we seem to have.
