Considering we almost had a 40 point lead and ND beat them by  26 that's why they definitely messed up

Well, either they confused St. Mary's and Mt. St. Mary's or they voted for MSM to be ranked. Neither speaks too highly of their qualification to vote. If I were betting, I'd bet they confused the two schools.

These aren't the nuclear codes.  It's a simple mistake.

But I guess they once threatened to strip Steve Spurrier as a coaches pollster because of his tradition of always giving Duke a pre-season #25 ranking in football.  (They were usually terrible when he was coaching but did it to honor the place that gave him his first head coaching gig.)  So I guess anything is possible.
