I'm watching them destroy Syracuse in the first half.  Up 10 right now at half time.  That will be a tough game.

ozmetal71

Sack up, Chicos.  Road games are tough, but you are penciling in a loss to a bad Cincy team just because the Cuse is struggling with them?  I normally agree with you on most things, but your post is bed-wetting.

TallTitan34

They also beat Louisville in Louisville.   I realize Slick Rick's team has had there share of problems but Cinci appears to be turning it on.

That beating said Cinci is now up 9 with 13:45 to go.

I think they are playing a lot better of late.  They played with Xavier the entire game.  Beat Louisville.  Only lost by 10 to Memphis.

I hope you're right

If MU loses @ Cincy, it will be one of the worst losses in the TC era and certainly one of the biggest upsets in all of college BB this season. It should be as close to a layup on the road of any road game they play this year.

I want this quote to serve as a reminder to the vast majority of scoop posters in regards to the MU BB program.

Where you at the Western Michigan NIT Game couple of years back?; that was awful, quite possibly one of the worst feelings for MU in a long long time

You obviously are not watching this game. Cincy looks pretty damn good.

It may end up being a loss.  But I don't think you can judge anything off of a game versus Syracuse.  They've lost 3 players to season or possibly career ending injuries(Devendorf, Rautins and Brennan-McBride) as well as losing one player(Josh Wright) because he quit the team.  They only have 3 scholarship guards at the moment and thats if you count Paul Harris as a guard instead of his natural position of forward.  They had to lift the redshirt on Sean Williams just to have enough players.  They may have some talented guys, but they have almost no depth, no leadership, and quite honestly are not a good team without all those guys.

ChicosBailBonds

I watched them against Xavier and thought they had some talent, young but talented.  In the Louisville game they didn't look very good but won nonetheless.

This game just looks like a tough game to me.  Saturday game, it will be a lot tougher then some here are making it.

It's funny to compare the comments on the board about Cincinnati versus West Virginia over the past few days.

Can any explain why Cincinnati seems to be getting far more respect than West Virginia?

I sense a general attitude that we should have been able to beat a lowly team like WVU quite handily.  But Cincy, well, THAT game is going to be tough.

ChicosBailBonds

Not sure.

I picked us to lose to WVU and I think the game at Cincy looks very tough as well.  In general, I'd be thrilled with any road conference wins regardless of opponent.  Equally, I will be disappointed with any home conference loss regardless of opponent.

personally never considered WVU lowly.. their 3 point shot has left me sleepless quite a few nights over the past few years..
but my disdain for cinci goes all the way back to the days of the midwestern conference...

Yeah, do you forget that we lost to Cinci at HOME just two years ago????  Not sure why losing away to them would be worse than losing at home during the year we beat the NUMBER TWO team in our first ever BEast game.  We've gone 10-6 the last two years in conf play and that was good enough for first round byes, so obviously games will be lost!!  I'm much more worried about home & home vs. ND & L'ville than Cinci.  Every game is gonna be tough, can't go all chicken little.  I mean, Pitt beat Duke & then lost to Dayton (yeah i know they lost cook & fields), so what does that mean??  Don't sweat the small stuff, one game at a time :)

I hope everyone also saw how Cincinnati almost choked out a 15 point lead with under 5 minutes to go.

Pomeroy gives Cincinnati a 6% chance of beating us (they were given a 19% chance of upending Syracuse tonight, so take that for what it's worth), and another encouraging report comes from a different reading of the numbers, which may have already been posted.

• Marquette (18th/22nd/4th)
The Golden Eagles also are a shocking eighth in offensive rebounding. If that number, along with contributions of Ousmane Barro and Co. come anything close to holding, this team will be deep into the NCAAs.

if we lose at cincy this year, how will that be on of TC's worst losses?
It's not about ME,
It's about US.

muwarrior87

let us also remember that Cincy's wins have been against injured teams. L'ville has had just about everyone out at one point or another this year and all those who were back were not at full strength. Also, 'Cuse is w/o Devendorf. While I hate the guy, he is a valuable member of the Syracuse team. If we are healthy, I see it as a tough game but winnable. It's games like that which are going to separate us from the rest of the conference, if we are going to be at the top.  Personally, I'd rather see Cincy be decent than absolutely suck. Adds more to the rivalry.
