No way would a loss at Cincy be one of TC's worst. If the game were played tomorrow we'd be around a 1--to-2-point favorite. That's hardly an upset. Besides, while I love TC, we've had some bad losses in his tenure. We will have to play well to win at Cincy.

skianth16

Cincy is better than I thought they would be this year, but we should be able to win that game as long as we don't shoot 33% like we did in WV

You just can't really take a night off in the BEast

I "almost" expect to lose every road game in the BE, or at least go into each game with the expectation of a loss. There isn't a single cup cake anywhere.

That said, the opposite is true. I go into every home game expecting us to win.

MU shoots decent from outside they win, because of their outstanding D.  Trouble is, we can never know.

All other analysis is spending too much time on the little, tangential stuff.

jaygall31

i'll be happy winning 1 of these next 2...
It's not about ME,
It's about US.

Cincy just beat #17 Villanova tonight

The rankings mean nothing. Nova was exposed at DePaul as a team that was primarily untested through the pre-conference and a team that if you shut down Reynolds the snake dies quickly.

When Cincinnati beats Notre Dame, Georgetown, Pittsburgh at home then I'll be a little more worried about Marquette's visit.

If MU loses @ Cincy, it will be one of the worst losses in the TC era and certainly one of the biggest upsets in all of college BB this season. It should be as close to a layup on the road of any road game they play this year.

Dude apparently you don't remember our final four team losing at East Carolina, D-Wade and all.

P.S. When you use the prases best, worst, always, or never in regards to sports; I am going to go ahead and disregard your opinion and encourage others to do so as well.

first of all best, worst, always and never aren't phrases they are words.  2nd of all, I don't agree with muguru but in his defence he said 'one of the worst' not 'the worst'

One of the worst losses?

A road conference game?  :o

How do you think Huggins felt when MU always seemed to beat Cincy at at the Bradley Center no matter how high Cincy was ranked (was it 3 out of 4 times?)

Road-conference upsets are upsets (my Yogi Berra), but not all that surprising. Happens all of the time to good teams.

Great teams avoid are the teams that can consistently win on the road and put forth a great effort every single night.

WashDCWarrior

We'll be favored, but to call it one the worst losses in the Crean era is ridiculous.  It's a road conference game against a rival.

Right now in BE play, teams are a combined 22-7 at home.  Ten of 16 teams are yet to win a road game, including Marquette.

augoman

Coach Crean has already won 2 of the 3 'MUSTS' this year, all 3 were losses last year:  UW, ND, and the first tournament game.  Having said that, I can accept a stubbed toe loss (WV) or two- in conference, on the road.

Two losses in conference? That's it? Wow, we have the Big East pretty much wrapped up if that happened.

ChicosBailBonds

Cincy wins again, now against top 20 Pitt at the Shoe.

ChicosBailBonds

Tonight they beat WVU by more than 20 on the road.....I'll repeat what I said weeks ago.....

SoCalEagle

Don't worry, Chicos, Rocky and Spiral are going to the game so they'll make sure the boys are in good shape before they take the court :)  :)  :)

BTW, I think we win by 8+.  We need it, we know it, we'll do it.

tomcrean4pres

I think MU wins in a very close game. I say we win by around 10 only because of Ft's a the end. I think the game will really be closer than that final score though. 73-63 Final MU wins.... just my guess though (so in other words it means nothing)

You guys have a lot more confidence then I do....I think Cincy is playing lights out.  They've already beaten Louisville on the road where we got smoked.  They beat WVU tonight where we got smoked.  They beat Pitt.  They beat Syracuse.  They lost to UCONN by one point in a game they totally choked.

I know we can win, but we haven't played well in awhile, I just don't see it.  I want to see it, we definitely need it, but I don't see it.

Agreed,
If we don't shoot like we did against OK State or Notre dame we could be part of another blowout.  I agree with those on this board who say its confidence as I just don't think the team is playing with much of it right now...Hope that changes come Saturday!  GO MU!

NavinRJohnson

They have been nothing if not inconsistent, and I still say we are catching UC at a good time. I expect MU to be very ready to play in this one, and I think we walk away with the win.

mu_hilltopper

I know one poster who will jump all over me for saying this, but .. MU can play down to the level of competition.  SHU and USF are examples of teams, that on paper, were easy W's that turned into near losses.

At one point, Cincy looked like a tasty W on the road.  Not so much any more, and MU will know they need to "play with their hair on fire".

If MU plays down to the competition don't they also play up to the competition? If that's the case, then we can expect their best performance out of the last 4 or 5 games.

mu_hilltopper

"don't they also play up.."  you'd think so, wouldn't ya?  .. The games at UL, WVU, and UConn would suggest otherwise.

Reminders of ND and @UW in 3...2...1...
