A handy round-up of what the national media and analytical models project for #mubb this season.

As a quick aside, TRank was the most accurate predictor among the 6 big analytical models. It's also most bullish on MU this season. If you haven't visited the site before, I encourage one and all to do so. It has way more features than KenPom at the low price of Free 99. http://barttorvik.com/

It's a bit amazing that no one has Markus as a top-50 player. Marquette fans know about his defensive deficiencies, but I can't imagine the rest of the country thinks about him that way. He was a high-usage, high-efficiency freshman who turned in one of the greatest seasonal shooting performances in recent memory. He proved he can fill up the basket and was the leading scorer on a tournament team that lost three of their top five scorers.

If I'm looking at another program from afar, he's the exact type of player that makes me think "breakout season". Here in the Marquette trenches, we can quibble about defense, whether we think him or Sam will be our leader, or if he's vulnerable to pressure after Lindenwood, but nationally, I'm somewhat shocked that no one is tabbing him as one of the next big things.

I have had the same thoughts Brew.  He is so overlooked for a kid that led the nation in 3 point shooting % last season.  It is amazing that nobody mentions him at all.

You have to figure he will take a step back and his performance Saturday gives one pause, but the lack of pub he isgetting is a head scratcher to me.

Agreed, particularly since SI/Hanner have him projected as a top-10 scorer in High Major leagues. It's not like he's a secret any more.
