I am with you on not gloating. I want this to blow over and let the dust clear.

I agree.  This isn't over by a long shot.  In addition to MU (my first allegiance), I'm a fan of several other schools' athletics.  I really hope none get wrapped up in this.

Quote from: Goose on September 27, 2017, 11:08:51 AMI want to thank Rick Pitino for provided a great deal of entertainment and excitement to this MU fan. Louisville has always been a team I loved MU to play and Rick era added juice to the game. I often stated that Rick's style of play, charisma and way he worked the sideline reminded me of Al and I am sticking with that. His defensive style of play was as close as MU played in the 70's as any team since. He knew the importance of pressure on the ball, baseline to baseline.

It's too bad that such a talented and passionate coach decided to take a wrecking ball to everything he says he holds dear: his career, his legacy, the Louisville basketball program, the university as a whole, the sport of college basketball, and his family.

Apart from that, yeah, Pitino reminds me of Al.

I would assume you are pretty confident in your "cleanliness" to like something like this...

If Pitino is directly involved (coach-2) per the NY Post article, why didn't he get arrested?  I'm a touch skeptical and Pitino statements are that "he was shocked" about these allegiations  :)

Good bye Rick

Agreed 100% based upon my limited in person recollection of Al, and the tapes I've seen of him.  Watching Pitino conduct himself on the sidelines always made me think of Al.

Simple.  He is involved in everything, but he is fortunate in that his conversations were not in the presence of the cooperating witness.  So likely they do not have video, or phone recordings (wiretaps) involving him in the very clearly illegal activity.

Now they will have witnesses though that may be willing to testify under oath (given that they are already on record in wiretaps and video outing Pitino), if they do testify, you'll see Slick Rick formally charged.

I'll always think of him as the coach whose domination of Western University caused longtime straight arrow Pete Bell to cheat and buy Butch McRae and Ricky Roe.  I still don't believe Neon Boudeaux didn't keep the Lexus.

I like to think that Pitino is playing with semantics.  The statement:  "These allegations come as a complete shock to me."   It's true.  He was completely shocked that someone made the allegations; they're supposed to keep that crap quiet.  On the other hand...the facts contained in the allegations...not a surprise at all; he was in that crap up to his eyeballs.

I do agree that I wonder how they decided who to arrest.  I read speculation -- without any citation - that there would be an additional nine arrests today.  It hasn't happened yet, obviously.  I have no idea where that came from.

Not quite. Pitino swings a tiny Johnson and that is at Porcinis.

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

The Sgt. Schultz defense didn't work for Pitino (the 2nd time). Will it work for Brian?
