You're right of course - but doesn't the coaches spouse have a lot more invested in the team than any fan?

Do coaches families really have to be politically correct in the way that they cheer?

1) Being "more invested" due to personal interest doesn't somehow make it acceptable to get drunk and scream obscenities at a public event.

2) We can argue about the semantics of the term "politically correct" all day but the fact is that ALL adults attending live sporting events have a responsibility to act like adults when cheering on their team. Anyone who yells or screams in anger at college kids, coaches or officials is acting like a fool.

Grown "adults" paint their faces and wear cheese on their heads.

Shouldn't we be laughing and mercilessly teasing them first?

This was just a kid who learned a lesson that all kids should learn. Losing is part of life - except for me, of course. I never lose. I win so much that I am tired of winning. My winning is YUGE!!

I think I summarize this as follows:

Acceptable Teasing:

Unacceptable Teasing:

He's just a kid for Christ's sake. Kids are vicious, and I can't help but think that he'll be bullied for it. Also, context is important and it was terrible, terrible call.

If you're serious, the answer to both questions is yes - a resounding yes for the second question.

If you're going for teal-less hilarity, you need to try a little harder this time.

CBS needed to stop showing that kid throughout the second half. It really wasn't fair to him.

That said, here's my issue with the crying kid (Yes, a father of 4 kids age 7 and under just started a sentence that way), there was 7:36 remaining in the game. Even at the age of 8, 9, 10, whatever he is, you can't lose your sh*t over a bad call with 20% of the game still to play! We know you're passionate about NU hoops but you gotta learn to keep it together, son!

Jim Phillips is a very good AD and seems like a good guy. Hopefully he's using this as a teaching moment.

C'mon Mike. You know it's fashionable now to lie, grope women at will, and act like a neanderthal.

Ms. Marshall's "crime" was a lot lessthan that.

Yes, the crying kid is NU AD Jim Phillip's son. I thought that had mentioned on here but I could be mistaken.

That crying kid is the coolest kid in his class, and being popular on the internet regardless of reason means everything to young people these days.

Hopefully he teaches the same lesson to Collins. His freak out and technical after the block cost his team a lot more than a missed call.

What about men who are revenge porned?  Why does Lynn Marshall have to be the victim and never the perp?

I guess to some, women fans should sit quietly in their seats and let men do the revenge porning - unless, of course the women are wearing short skirts and tight tops or, for that matter, any sort of clothing at all.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

So that makes it okay?

Nothing of the sort, Merritt mentioned that AD Jim Phillips would use this as a teaching moment but it was not clearly stated that was his son.

That is all.

You're right, mea culpa.

I should have clarified, that by young people, I meant 10 & 11 year olds (in this case an 11 year old) who are obsessed with Instagram likes & Twitter followers.

Not sure.... but I'm guessing he wouldn't have been the first man in Famke Janssen's life that had to.
