So, who here on MUScoop is planning on attending the game(s) in Greenville? I'm thinking of driving down from Wash, DC if I can switch some Friday meetings around. If they play on Sunday I'll definitely make it then.

Benny B

Waiting on the ticket allocation... wife dropped out and I'm not schlepping three kids to SC if I don't have tickets in hand.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

For those of us in SE that are considering attending, could some kind soul post details on how to secure tickets from MU?
Please feel free to PM or post to thread.  I will forward info to SE alumni chapters.

Unfortunately no.  With the auditors in at chick's company, it's simply not possible this year.

So we're doing the next best thing.  We're headed to MKE for the Official Marquette campus game watch party.  Communicated back and forth with Advancements last night about helping to host or assist in any way possible.  I'll post more info as it becomes available.  So if your in the area, join us.

I just received from Marquette if this helps.

Going if i get tix via MU

This is where I am, too.

The lateness of the game creates problems for me. The whole idea of going to the game is to be with like-minded people. So if I don't have MU section tickets in hand, making that drive - and more specifically, making the very late drive back - will not worth it to me. I don't want to go there only to have to buy some nosebleed tickets on the other side of the arena at some ridiculous price.

If I can't get MU tix, I'll host some fellow Charlotte Marquetters and we'll cheer on the lads in front of my big-screen TV.

If When we win Friday, I certainly hope to go Sunday, though the rich Dookies will swoop in like sharks for tix.

Ticket pickup and reception will be announced 2-3 days prior.  Consider that the ticket office is a madhouse right now... they have to work through the team's own logistics first, the ticket allocation next, Broeker needs to get fitted for a new suit, then they'll get around to the special events.

You will all get tickets, in my informed opinion.

So is this not the time for me to call with my complaints about how their incompetent scheduling cost us a 9 seed?

I don't even want to drive from Greenville to Charlotte after midnight. I wouldn't wish it on others.

Seriously, if the game were in Charlotte - as it was supposed to be before our legislators mandated discrimination - I would open up the house to all. Hopefully, the ridiculous law will be repealed and I'll get the chance in the future.

UNC fans are the bigger concern for tickets on Sun.  If we can get past SC, most of the arena will probably be UNC fans cheering for us against Duke.

Would love to go but getting to Greenville seems like a b!tch from Milwaukee.  Not sure I'll find a friend to take a 13 hour road trip with me...

I'm in the same boat. For Chrissakes...10 pm start! Sunday could be a different story, however.

Other than the fact that it's a two-hour drive late at night, is there something else about going from G-Ville to CLT that those of not flying into GSP (i.e. driving from Charlotte) should know about?

Avoid the Waffle House....all 8000 of them you will see every 30 miles along the interstate.

C'mon chili, Waffle House is awesome.  (Well okay, not awesome but rather 'classic'.  Great southern breakfast stop.

Glow - what's the information on the official Marquette watch party?  We will likely be in Milwaukee to watch Minnesota (i.e. the 5 seed in the most popular 12/5 upset pick) and I'm looking for game watching options on Friday.
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

Go to the hotel where the NCAA are headquartered for the POD.....

Got my 2003 final ticket there......$400 for Saturday Monday.....About half way up.....

Before the game.....There will be plenty for the first rounds......

Prices have skyrocketed in the last 15 years it appears......

When face is what they say.....

If not popular......Tickets may be going under face.....

You can always pick tickets up at the team hotel......

Look for the team that has to travel the farthest.....

Usually the most open "student" section tickets.....

I have sat with the "Southern" students back in the 90's

Yes .....We got several looks.....LOL......

chapman

Working on the details, but I look to be a go.  Late start is annoying.
