X may be out.  They are not in Dayton.

With Providence in Dayton, Xavier might be out.

Did i miss X?

I called it about 10 minutes early on the other board. Once Marquette got in as a 10 and when Providence got placed where they did, it a foregone conclusion that X would get in. Once I called it, that news traveled over here. People took it an ran with it...I took a chance...what chance I say? :o

Did they really pair Providence vs USC again this year? Thought they were the 1st round matchup last year..

Seems very easy to just switch up the 4 teams for some variety..

Lot of questionable moves by the committee - but can't really argue with any of the Big East seeds.

Outside of Nova/Butler, I like Creighton's path the best at making a run. Have a decent shot at getting to the sweet 16. Playing against Rhode Island, then against their old coach Dana Altmann in Oregon (without one of their top starters).

70% of the Big East conference made the tourney today.  That is a new conference record on a percentage basis.

The old percentage record was set in 2011 when The Big East received 11 (of 16) bids or 68.75% of the conference getting bids.  The 11 bids remains the record for the most absolute number of bids for a conference.

The Big East owns all the records.

As was pointed out in another thread, I believe that the record for highest percentage was set by the Big East in 1991 - 7 out of 9.

Has to help recruiting to the conference.  Congrats BE!

ESPN actually made a 30 for 30 film on the death of the Big East, really?  I tuned out the network 5 years ago, but I am shocked by this.

This is correct. I've seen people say the record was the ACC in 1997, the Big East in 2011, and somehow people completely ignoring that 70% is pretty much a normal year for the Big 12. It's a nice feather in the cap, but not that big of a deal seeing as we'd need 8 teams in to break the actual record from 1991.

Come to DePaul: Almost all of our losses were to teams that made the NCAA Tournament!!!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

What's even more funny is that they decided to run it this week during the Big East Tournament and then again today at 6:00 PM CST right after the bids were announced and the Big East got 7 teams in the Big Dance. ESPN is now a slime ball network that was partly responsible for all of the conference raiding that occurred.

I lost all respect for the ESPN during the split of the original Big East Conference and their coverage of the 2013 Big East Tournament. They played it up as the last BET ever when ESPN already knew that the Catholic 7 had the rights to the name "Big East" and the C7 had a television contract with Fox Sports and it was almost a certainty the BET was going to continue at MSG.

"Requiem For The Big East" is the worst 30 for 30 because it is nothing more than a propaganda piece used to try to destroy the Big East Conference and raise the profile of the ACC. It failed.

You think it is possible to get 8 bids?  Providence was on the bubble as they are playing in Dayton.  We were a 10 seed.  Keep everything the same and assume that Georgetown was 9 - 9 in conference.  Now unless St. Johns and Depaul go 0 - 18, those winds have to come from somewhere and that may knock out someone else.

Point is it is a really narrow path to spread the wins around to get 8 bids.

Fantastic work by the whole Big East . Kudos to all the coaches very well earned. I love the Big East and looking forward to seeing all our teams go as far as possible.
