"NEW" tag
« on: November 30, 2006, 12:23:08 PM »
I like how "NEW" shows up on the thread list, but can similar "NEW" tags be added to specific posts within a thread.  So if 5 new posts have been added since last time I viewed a thread, only those five would be tagged as new.

This would allow me to catch up much quicker if I haven't checked the site in a day or two.

Hmmm...donno.  BUT...if you click on the "new" image (instead of the thread link) it should automagically take you to your first unread post.

I think that achieves your goal of efficiency:)

Not sure what you mean there.  A thread will have "New" until you read it .. or, you can hit "mark all topics read" .. then it resets everything to read.

.. If you leave some threads unread, then surf away, those threads remain new.

I think DC is talking about adding "NEW" tags on the individual messages inside a thread.  That may be tough (maybe not),  nonetheless, clicking on the new tag should achieve the goal (I hope)

Didn't know that about clicking on NEW.  That accomplishes the goal.
