It's pretty sad, but Hanni isn't one of the 8 best basketball players on this team right now.

Best thing that can happen to HC is this offseason. I'm confident we'll see a different player next year.

In the meantime, he's a spot minutes guy.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

nyg

He's on the Sandy Cohen train right now, but considering he was such a good player last year, this train is on a worse track.

BE play has been horrific with exception of a few like first SH ( his best), and DePaul.
Really started his demise with Butler on 2/7 game and been downhill since.

Since that game, he has 28 points and 14 turnovers in seven games and that includes playing 10, 11, 13 and 3 minutes in last four.

I am sure most did not see this happening and who knows how it will turnout.  Will he stay and work it out, will he leave, will he be over recruited?  Just hope for a turn around because like his size on defensive end, but that's not gonna cut it with Wojo.  He was celebrating the win like crazy on the bench, so he appears to be a team player.  Hoping he can contribute in post season.

wadesworld

He'll contribute the next 2 years. Hoping for a Lockett type of contribution from him. Glue guy.

MuMark

Always got to have somebody look for a negative topic to post even on a great day for the program hey?

Clam Crowder

Haanif is not a glue guy, and if someone gets in foul trouble and we need Haanif I am sure he will be just fine for us. Sophomore slumps happen....aside from turnovers his numbers are not terrible

Don't worry about Cheatham, he'll be better next year with more moves with hard work over the off season.

Not a glue guy as in he's more than that? Right now his offensive game is broken. He's a solid defender and a good rebound. He needs to diversify his offensive game. But I don't think he'll ever polish it enough to be a top 3 offensive threat for us. So my hope is he's good enough offensively to make defenses honor him and accepts the role of a junkyard dog overall.

HC appears to be a coachable, hard worker who will work on his game this summer. No one should be surprised when he blossoms into a real force next season. I am looking forward to seeing him as a solid offensive player and our best defender.

Haani needs to have a change of mindset. He needs to be more of a distributor on offense. Presently all he does is take it to the rack. The opposition knows this and collapses on him. I think if he would kick it out more to our 3 point guys he would eventually get the space he needs to be effective. If he took this mindset into the tournaments , it would really help the team.

We R Final Four

We have seen over the course of this season that not only has HC's offense slacked, but he is no longer the shut down defender that some here think he is.
He was put in in select situations vs. X and I would say did not pass the test.
Today...nothing.
But, Wojo has the pulse of this team and therefore has the ability to go 10 deep. If HC cannot help this year--Wojo will proceed. I hope he gets back, but I have serious doubts.
The Sandy comparison by NYG seems right in.

mileskishnish72

A year ago, I was on the Haani being the all-time scorer at MU train. This year I was appalled.
Someone posted that he needs to spend the off-season with his L arm strapped to his body, and I agree. He also needs to develop the mid range jumper and the short range teardrop.

If he can't progress, I think he's done at this level. He seems like a great teammate. Haani, work your butt off and come back and make the worriers like me look like crap for doubting you.

Haani will be fine.  He was on everyone's scouting report this year and they effectively took away much of his game once the competition got stiff in the BEast.  He lost confidence as a result.  I sincerely believes he understands that he needs to elevate his game and develop and I'm confident he'll work very hard this summer to do that.

I mostly agree with you, But I think you're wrong on Cheatham, if you think his last 2 years are the best he has to offer, then that a mistak.  But we'll find out next year.  But today is "Be Happy Don't Worry"

Yep.  Sophomore slump, accentuated by the fact that he came into the season expected to be one of our top guys, so teams studied him.  He'll diversify his game in the offseason, and most BE teams will be spending more time trying to figure out ways to stop Marcus, Sam and Rowsey.

He was arguably a top 3 offensive player for us just last year....He carried us through some early season games this year and his driving ability in a few of those games was shown. That being said the guy needs to develop going left. If he does that then he will be a top 3 option for us in the next 2 years....

I thought he was going to be Rony Eford II. Now, I think he might be Sandy Cohen II.

Mr. Sand-Knit

Cheatum needs to develop a right hand.  He drives the ball wel to the left but when he has to go to the right side is completely in capable.  Summer fo werking on going to the right with do wonders for him
