The takes would have been scorching hot, that's for sure.

Have been wondering since Saturday, what coaches would have refused to play? I'm guessing most would have played, but I feel some (especially as the visiting team) would not. I cringe mentioning this, but would Buzz?

We didn't play the aircraft carrier game due to condensation on the court

The Providence hockey team had a game Sunday afternoon.  Wasn't going to be rescheduled.

They would have had to reschedule the game...

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I know. That's why I mentioned Buzz.

He and Matta were in agreement on that one.

It would not have been played unless they could have found an alternative venue for Sunday.

When?  Tonight?  With Providence playing tomorrow and Marquette on the road on Wednesday?

I guess it's possible, but I would think that they would have just declared it a no contest.

Lol, cmon man. That would've messed a lot of things up. Perhaps that's why the didn't cancel the game, but no chance Marquette and PC wouldn't have figured something out. Sunday morning, Sunday night, different venue, tonight, Thursday, next Monday. They would have figured it out.

To call the game was the refs responsibility they had the last word. I'm sure that if we refused to play besides forfeit there would have been sanctions for MU. Plus it was very bush league by the officials to just leave a note to the press to refer to BE regarding any questions.

Friar hockey doesn't play at that arena. They play on campus. The AHL team plays hockey at the Dunkin Donuts Center. That being said, there was still an event schedule that Sunday.

That is what I meant.  The AHL team.  Sorry.

Was hockey played at the BC? If so, did MU ever have that problem?

Yes up until last year, and no, not that I recall.

Of course the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) played at the BC from 1988 to 2016. Final Four and the old Badger Hockey Showdowns have been at the Bradley Center. I never heard the Bucks or MU having a problem.

I remembered the Bucks having an issue in a preseason game with players slipping just a few years ago, but it was due to the finish on their new floor rather than condensation from the ice: http://www.foxsports.com/wisconsin/story/bucks-to-resurface-new-floor-at-bmo-harris-bradley-center-103013
Their game did get cancelled in the first quarter, but obviously the outcome of the game is much lower stakes than the chance of injury there.

No, he said the refs actions were bush league.

The refs work for the league, the refs are bush league, the league the refs work for is not bush league.
The bush league actions of the leagues bush league refs is not bush league.

If someone got hurt, thank God nobody got hurt, the discussion would not be about AHL, or notes left for refs.

My take is that the refs did not have the authority to cancel the game.

Your take is incorrect. But that is also not what he was criticizing. He criticized the refs for dodging questions

Yes it was refs decision as per rules whether to play game or not and just leaving a note telling the press to ask the league, they are supposed to answer not the league. It amazes me sometimes here how people can't grasp simple statements and then use faulty logic to try to change the meaning of what is being said. Totally ridiculous.

O.K. Mr. Logic, then why does the league employ bush league refs?  I suppose we need a definition of "bush league".

I  know exactly what was said in the original post, that was, that what the refs did was bush league.

How we separate the refs from the league is beyond me.  I suppose a claim to logic is sufficient.  I  was not making a syllogism, I  was making a point.

Could it be that the refs are fearful for their jobs?  Could it be that it is all about the money?
