This team has been turning the ball over like crazy, and for as good of a shooter as he is(and wow is he good), Markus is NOT a PG. I think it's time to consider another lineup change..I think I'd start Kaitin at the Point and move Marcus to his natural 2 guard position. Kaitin does handle the ball well, and dishes it well. Rowsey can go back to the bench. I mean realistically Kaitin as about as good of a shooter as Rowsey anyway, as good of a FT shooter, and much better with the ball. This would also take some pressure off of Markus and let him just worry about what he does best, and that's shoot it.

I would like to see JJJ at the point. He is our best passer and he excels at the drive and kick out. Give him istrict instructions to only shoot as a last resort.

JJJ is a turnover machine and I think would be better in smaller doses.

I like to see him on the bench. He should only be playing small segments. Around 12 mins a game and that's generous.

Put Haani and JJJ together and you would have a point who could dribble with both hands.

Mr. Sand-Knit

While i love Markus n think hes gonna be solid as a pg in a yr or two his turnover when the ball got stuck between his legs was really a big one. Man for the possesion arrow there.

Rowsey seemed to be fine at the point. There was a post a while ago that showed how team results correlated with what Rowsey did.

Do you not know how much hard work JJ has put in the last 4 seasons? Get out of here with this nonsense

This. JJJ killed us tonight with his broke ass shot and horrible drives. Brutal

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

It's frustrating that we don't have a solid PG with all the talent on this team. Chatham has one hand, Riwsey picks up his dribble way too soon, KR has too quick of a trigger, and Howard is obviously not a natural 1.

Some of this is on Rowsey for not being consistent enough as a junior, and a lot of this is on Wojo for not coaching a press break effectively.

Either way, not a great situation.

Markusquette

What's the deal with Duane barely playing, if at all, in the second half yesterday?  JJJ got a lot of unwarranted minutes again.  I guess size and he values Rowsey and Markus more at the guard position and doesn't want the three of them together a lot?

I didn't really see any big mistakes from Duane to keep him out so much.  We're really hurting for one more big man.

GGGG

There are times, like in the first half, that he looks great.  Gifted around the hoop.  Great vision on passes.  But in the very same game he misses a couple pull ups, a lay up, doesn't come to the ball on a pass from Markus that was intercepted, then sat there when Providence started their break.

I've never been a great fan of his game and he has done very little to change my opinion over the past four years.

Good God just no. Based on basketball IQ alone this is an awful idea

We R Final Four

I think a change that could be made for the last two games is get the ball to LF in the low post more than once per game.  High % from close, draw fouls on their bigs, and kick out on the double.

One of the reasons I want JJJ at the point is that over the years he has shown a proclivity to get the ball in to Luke for the close shots you mention.

He has made some really nice passes the last couple games but also some dumb passes/turnovers but i mean give it a try

If passing was the only thing that made a good PG I would agree with you.

Katin running the point is intriguing. He was a PG in high school. Personally, I don't think you blow up what you're doing just because you lost by one possession on the road to a fellow bubble team. Sammy or Markus' last threes go in, JJJ's layup doesn't roll out, or Sammy gets the foul call under the hoop and we win the game.
