Holy hell all time

So many "What ifs?" this year. So many wasted opportunities. Tough to take.

Winning is contagious. We're not quite ready. Hopefully our young kids can get a taste of it down the stretch and use the experience next year.

Don't care, don't like the Cubs.  This season for the Warriors blows.  However, I actually see some progress .  . .

While we're talking baseball analogies...

I get a little "Yost's Brewers in September" vibe going on here. They played tight because the manager was wound tight. I wonder if some of these late-game struggles are because the team sees it's coach tightening up.

Hmm.  Good point.  Being too tightly wound late in the season leads to exhaustion for everyone.  Many successful coaches cut down on practices and stay calm with their team at this point in the year (though, they never stay calm with Refs!)

This is nothing like Cubs fandom. 20 more years of this and we can start to talk.

C'mon man, give me something, I'm a Brewers fan.

The rebuild is looking promising and maybe you find a taker for Braun this summer.  And you're not a Cards fan.

Does that help?

God, I hate the Cardinals.

As we're talking about my two favorite teams, not even close.

Wades doesn't care. He asked the question, but he doesn't care for your response.

DePaul: The Cubs of the Big East

MU is maybe the Phillies? Great team in the mid -2000s, then a slow decline. And now progress (by default since they can only go upwards)?

Dude, Golden State is running away with the west. How can you think theirvseason blows? Because they won't get 73?

DePaul and the Cubs aren't even close either. DePaul's made one Final Four in their history. The Cubs have been in the playoffs 8 times in the last 33 years.

Beyond that, DePaul's stretch of failing as the favorite in the early 80s may have been worse. Cubs were rarely the favorite to the win the WS before '16 (84 Tigers, 89 A's, 98 Yankees, 03 Yankees, 07 Red Sox, etc).

And MU is better than the Phillies now, but weren't as good as the Phillies from the end of the last decade to early this decade. MU was never a threat to win a title from '06 to '13. Threat to make Final 4 before James got hurt in '09, seed favorite to make Final 4 after UL pulled upset in first Sweet 16 game in West regional in '12, seed favorite to make Final 4 against cuse in '13. Besides the year they won it, Phillies were a threat to win it the next 3 years. And the Phillies haven't been close to that since. MU's been down for 3 years but are at least back to average now (even if it's an incredibly frustrating at times average).

MUDPT

The Wojo era has been most like the Miami Marlins, recently.  Lots of potential with a ceiling of .500.  If there is a more apt comparison (Brew will hopefully like this one), this team is most like the USMNT under Klinsmann. A coach who had come from somewhere more prestigious. A recruitment of pretty good players.  Results that were really "meh" on the field, with some awesome wins and terrible losses thrown in.  A lot of questions on whether the coach knew anything about "coaching" or not.

Eye

Agreed on Marlins. Best comparison in this thread so far.
