If we win at Providence, it will mark the first time this season we won 3 straight in BE play.

Need to win 1 in a row.  Beat Providence Saturday.

Not the way it's phrased.  "Need to win 3 in a row" = we need to win our next 3 games.

Go 1-0 Saturday.  Biggest game of the year.

Now we are finally getting some good debates going around here.

We can't. We're already 17-10. If we ignore the games behind us, our resume goes to crap and we have no chance of making the tournament.

Nobody's ignoring the past.  Some of us are just focusing on getting the one win and zero losses in our single game on Saturday.  Biggest game of the year.

What you seem to fail to understand is that you are not part of that "us". You have nothing to do with that "us". The "us" includes the coaches, the players, and the rest of the staff. For anyone else to embrace that is completely ridiculous, and to chastise people for looking beyond Saturday is an exercise in inanity.

YOU. ARE. NOT. ON. THE. TEAM.

So no, Saturday is not the biggest game of the year. Your "focus" on getting one win and zero losses on Saturday has absolutely no bearing on what will happen on Saturday any more than what color Marquette shirt you wear or whether or not you drink out of your Marquette coffee mug in the morning or have to settle for the old, dingy "World's Best Dad" coffee mug in the back of the cupboard.

Come Saturday afternoon, we won't be 1-0, we will be 17-11 or 18-10. We'll all hope for the latter, but no amount of "focus" or effort on your part will change that whatsoever, so stop acting like you are on the team and accept that you, like the rest of us, are just fans, and what we focus on as fans (or what color underwear, what route we walk to the stadium, what seat we pick in our home theater) has zero bearing on the game.

Who's chastising anyone?  Who said they were on the team?  I must be missing those things.

Saturday absolutely is the biggest game of the year.  By far.  And our Saturday record will be either 1-0 or 0-1.  That's just a fact.  Nobody's saying our season record will be 1-0 or 0-1.  Just our record in our games on Saturday.

Only you are saying that. And at the end of the year, no one will care what our record on February 25 is, so your endless babbling about it is irrelevant.

Huh?  I'm chastising people?  I think you should look up the definition of "chastise."  I certainly haven't criticized anyone.  I've offered my opinion.  Have not made any type of attack on anyone.

I'm saying I'm on the team by saying we need to win our next game and focus on Providence?  Hmm, interesting reasoning.

Your opinion on the biggest game of the year.  You're entitled to it.  But it's the only one right in front of us.  Wojo announced it himself, next game is the most important.

Sorry, but again, we are playing 1 game on Saturday.  We are not playing 28 games on Saturday.

Nobody's saying at the end of the year people will be talking about our record on February 25.  But I'm very concerned about what our record will be on February 25 as of right now.  At Providence is a huge game.  Competing with them for positioning in the BE and a potential NCAA Tournament bid.  Getting swept by them won't be helpful in either of those.

Guys, all i wanted to point out is that on Saturday we have a chance to do something that has not yet been accomplished this year... Win 3 big east games in a row. We don't need to argue about it.

What we can argue about is if we win 3 in a row does that mean the team has grown and matured, or is it just luck?

have at it :)

We get it.  You have made it clear in every thread that discusses the future outcomes of multiple games, that you believe that Scoop should only focus on the next one.

Again, we get it.  Feel free to ignore this topic in the future because you are reaching Ners-level obsession with this one.

Just providing my 2 cents on the topic.  If people want to debate it I'm happy to provide why I think those things are important.  When people then claim I chastise people I will question that, because I don't believe I did.  When people claim I said I was on MU's team I will question that because, unless I blacked out somewhere along the way while posting, I am certain I didn't.

We are 2-1 this month alone on Saturdays.
