In my decade as an MU fan, this is perhaps the most frustrating team to watch, mostly because I feel we are so close to being really good, but just can't seem to sustain it.

That said, I could see this team putting all of the pieces together right here at the end and going on a nice run in March to make this season a true success.  The way I see it, we have four major holes on this team: defensive rebounding, stopping wing penetration, rim protection, and low post scoring.  Given our three point shooting, I think we really only need to fill one or two of those holes to succeed down the stretch.

Better defense.    If MU's defense can improve to the 50th percentile for the next 4 weeks, it will be a lot of fun.

Finishing the February run.
Our offense is our best defense.  Need to protect the ball and keep passing to get to the open man.  Pretty much what Wojo keeps saying.

I don't think this is really what Wojo has been saying.  Last night, even when we were up big, he kept hammering the guys to keep up their focus on the defensive end and that we couldn't afford to just trade baskets.

Better defense = a few more stops = A March Run

Keeps you in games when shots are not falling.

Win Saturday.  Biggest game of the year.

And if we lose Saturday then the next one is the biggest game of the year. Overused cliché.

Only game that matters is Saturday.  After that you reset your focus to the next game, which becomes the biggest game of the year...win or lose Saturday.

Good think 79Warrior and mufanatic aren't getting the start in the backcourt for Marquette Saturday, so they can look ahead in the schedule.

Sure.  But it's a waste of time.  If this team has shown us anything, it's that they won't give you what you expect.  So go ahead and worry about what happens if we go X-X over the next X games, but realize that we won't be going X-X over the next X games, so you're wasting your time.

But posting "only the next game matters" on like, a lot of threads, is definitely not a waste of time.

Nope.  Providing my input on what we need most to make a March run.  Right now?  We need to win Saturday.  We have a thread about a March run when we're far from guaranteed to even get the opportunity to make that run.  First step is to win your next game.
