Not that I'm promoting this, but yes.

GoFundMe goes to you personally.  They should probably send you a 1099-MISC with it as income, but they cleverly avoid that with the "personal gifts" tax clause.

After that, it's your money, and if you donate it, you get the deduction.

Got it. That is the case, after doing my own research. Wish I could become a "GoFundMe Certified Charity" so everyone else could claim that deduction.

Just wanted to give this a quick bump and explain a few things that happened today.

1.) I spoke with Deb, the Executive Director at Camp Hometown Heroes, and she was ecstatic.
2.) I spoke with GoFundMe about getting donors tax deductible receipts. While GoFundMe cannot, Deb at CHH would be able to and I'm sure she would be happy to help us out and get all donors tax deductible receipts.

While I recognize that donating to CHH might be easier, donating to the GoFundMe page and spreading the word is a better way to generate more money for CHH in the long run. I saw a few names of donors who I don't recognize, so I'm figuring it's some scoopers - Thank you for your donation and support. I appreciate it  :)

Anyone think the Funsucker Duo of Pilarz and L. Williams would not approve of this...and would have sent out a missive banning said storming while constructing a Trump Wall around the floor?

Absolutely would have received an email, no doubt about that.

Gruesome Twosome?

I get your point, but I think it's against the rules because of safety issues, not because it's unsportsmanlike or anything like that. I don't have a huge problem with it.

My commenting is over. Put in that reference, someone in the world just basically thumbed their nose at someone on a supposed safety issue. Trying not to make this political, but in my world, that's immediately unchallengeable and supposed to end all conservation. It hasn't in this case, and in fact, has done exactly the opposite. Carry on, and GO WARRIORS!
GO WARRIORS!

If we storm the court for the remainder of our home games MU can then fork over another 25K and 25 more kids can go to camp. Hell let's make it a tradition, MU can afford 80k a year.

Wow! What an idea!

Disgusting.

The only court-stormings I want to see from this point forward is when Marquette gets beaten on the road.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Perfect.  Now call Joe and see if we can get priority points, too.
