Had my fill of Nova Wild Thoughts.
« on: January 24, 2017, 09:13:45 PM »
1.   A comeback for the ages.    Keyed by Duane Wilson.    Whoda thunk?
2.   Markus played like a 17 year old.   Dodds would say something about a freshman wall.  There is now a scouting report on the young man.   What adjustments will he make?
3.   Just once I would like to feel like MU got home cooking.    Calling little guys for boxing out?    Seriously?
4.   Luke showed up again tonight.    Except for the free throws.
5.  Just think what Sam will look like a year quicker and a year stronger.
6.  Villanova is the national champs.    A winning culture.   Mentally and physically stronger.   Never beating themselves.   Quicker to every loose ball.   Jay said that they were going to stay up on shooters, and his team was smart enough and disciplined enough to play to the scout.
7.   Overcame some of the most brain dead basketball in recent memory.
8.   A crow buffet from the first half.     Everybody have some.   Crow gumbo, crow tartare, crow wings, fried crow, roasted crow, crow noodle soup.......
9.  A great win.    Enjoy.   Revel.   Breathe deep.   Embrace.      STORM THAT COURT!!!!!!!!

Wojo deserves a boatload of credit. Went small with four guards and Sam and the zone prompted Nova to take 18-footers. Luckily for us they didn't go in. The lack of over-the-back calls and our atrocious FT shooting made the ending even sweeter.

11.  Wojo's (and staff's) adjustments were brilliant.  That small lineup and the offensive schemes to create mismatches in the last 2:00 was fantastic.

I love the Duane:JaJuan tandem when Rowsey and Howard have issues

The best part of any win is that BC Hoopster won't be here.

Love the 1-3-1

Honestly I thought we got lucky with some of the misses they were having while we played in the 1-3-1. It also opened us up to a fair share of offensive boards as people have been saying on the board.

That being said we capitalized on those misses and played amazing on the other end of the court.

Hung 50 on them in the second half.   Quite the turnaround from the first half.   Need more 40 minute performances.
