There's a few Warrior alums that sometimes write stuff that ends up on the AP.  I wonder if this is one of them.

Haven't paid that much attention but don't recall seeing the St. Johns Redmen, Miami Redskins or other nicknames making reappearances over the years either in print or on air - certainly not as much as the Warriors.

Kind of amazing how grown men still blow their loads when a nickname dead and gone for 22 years is mistakenly written still happens.

Nostalgia my man, nostalgia. Maybe you will be lucky enough to have some in your life.

It's more the fact that all they had to do was get ride of all the native American images and warriors would have been pretty neutral  (fill in whatever you want). The Jesuits are not Franciscans so poverty wasn't an issue when the casino in the valley offered them lots wampum.  When the networks put up a image on T.V It's a generic M.U. ribbon!

Redmen is rediculous, Redskins more so, Warriors is generic, great name.

Again, the issue was Willy-Wompum, not the name.  The papermachey big head of the mascot was offensive to some people, but the facts always get lost in history.  Wompom was a great play on words, but again, at the time, it was found offensive, not amusing.

How about the Marquette Wompums?  Naming a poor bird as a mascot is really lazy, but that's the way it goes.  And while were at it, how about a president of a University bringing a retired live mascot of a rivel school as his pet to his new school?   Is it just me, am I really out of it?

I'm good with any chance to blow my load.

Calling a person a redskin or redmen would generally be insulting. Calling a person a warrior would generally be seen as a compliment.
Watching the Florida St fans during the game against Michigan doing their tomahawk chop was just frustrating to me as I thought of our banned warrior knickname.

Blowing a load implies participation... merely taking notice of an AP writers' use of 'Warriors' doesn't exactly meet that standard.  It's more like taking brief notice of someone's racy outfit as they pass by.

That said... what you do with that image once you get home is another discussion.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
