Man, this one hurts. He had the same (somewhat rare) form of leukemia that my son's been battling. I followed his battle closely. For my money, best sideline reporter ever, loved that guy. RIP Craig, his spirit will certainly live on.

I liked his baseball playoff sideline reporting.  He was refreshing in that he never asked the run-of-the-mill question.

How's your son doing?

Goose

I really, really learned to like and appreciate him over the years. Prayers out to his family and friends.

He's doing well, in remission, going to school (1st grade). Coming up in February on two years post stem cell transplant.

Nice of you to ask, thank you.

Good luck and continued blessings, dish.

Wonderful news, Dish! Blessed Christmas to your family.

Regarding Craig Sager, he was unique in a cookie cutter world. On top of that, by all accounts he was a terrific guy. Courageous, too. RIP.

Great news on your son, Dish!!! Merry Christmas

Hopefully Dish Jr. lives as long and fulfilling of a life as Craig did.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Thanks everyone, you guys/gals have all been tremendous through out all this.

I know there's a lot of other Scooper's with kids fighting various ailments, and parents/family/friends battling cancer, and we're here to support you all as much as you've supported us.

Watch the HBO Real Sports segment on Sager if you can. I was astounded by his spirit and that he went back to work. His enthusiasm for life was incredibly remarkable.

it's the feeling of community that makes 'scoop special-as jimmy v has said-"don't give up, don't ever...hoping yours, your son's and family's Christmas is Merry and blessed dish

sager was special-watching tnt basketball last night and the heartfelt comments coming from charles, shaq and others was inspirational.  loved steve kerr's tribute before the gs game.  instead of asking for a moment of silence, he suggested a round of applause and it was a resounding one-really cool
