watching the Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Hawaii.... really wanted Hawaii to win for multiple reasons, however they are getting it handed to them by Georgia, and it is quite sad to watch.  However what is worse is Georgia being up 30 and going for it on 4th down... cheap shots by their D after the play is dead.  Personally, think it comes off from their coach Mark Richt... if you remember hes the same guy that wanted his team to get an unsportsmanlike penalty on their first touchdown against Florida in Florida, so the whole team danced in the endzone.

Now the announcers are talking about wanting to blow out the team so the voters will put them higher to start the year next year... can these announcers actually believe that bullcrap they just said, come on haha.

I have also noticed that not just Georgia but college football in its self is becoming a more individual sport then ever.  During the USC v Illinois game (another blowout, thank you BCS), USC players were doing the Soulja Boy in the second quarter, acting as if the game was over.  Oh and on another note, the true freshman RB for USC, #4 (McKnight I think?) is an absolute stud.

The blowout says more about Hawai'i being from the WACC and playing Boise State at home and nobody else all year.  Georgia was one of the hottest teams at the end of the regular season.  It's pretty bad if they can't show some class against their 4th or 5th best opponent all year.

The bowl scheduling wasn't the best.  I know much of it was the amount of upsets forcing hands.  But did anyone think Illinois stood a chance?  I'm all for keeping the Big Ten vs. Pac 10 Rose Bowl, but I would much rather have seen something like USC against Missouri and Georgia against Kansas.  Of course, the amount of "contractual obligations" in the Bowl system means that would have started a chain reaction that caused problems with setting up matchups elsewhere.  It amazes me how the poll voters can use personal preferences and flawed logic to basically determine the teams they want playing in the championship game, but the other matchups don't make much sense.

For a good example of the strangeness of the bowl system...I'm a Michigan fan, and it was great to send Carr and the seniors out with a win and stick it to the heavily-favored Gators and Urban Meyer, who treated the BCS like a political campaign last year.  But if you look at how the bowl "pecking order" went for Big Ten bowls (Rose-Capital One-Outback-Alamo-Champs Sports), Michigan's second place conference record but two out of conference losses had them further down.  Assuming Missouri beats Oklahoma and West Virginia beats Pittsburgh the final weekend, Ohio State would have been in the Rose Bowl.  That would have left Illinois to the Capital One Bowl.  Wisconsin had already accepted its invitation to the Outback Bowl, and Penn State to the Alamo.  So the losses in the final weekend sent Michigan, which was destined to play in the Champs Sports Bowl, all the way up to the Capital One Bowl when Ohio State found itself in the championship game and it was determined that Illinois deserved to play in the Rose Bowl.

Thats not true at all.  They have all the right to run up the score and be cocky(like USC).  There both excellent teams and that are well disciplined and well coached.  You play the team that the BCS gives you and after that anything is fair game.  Was Florida classless last year for destroying Ohio State and running up the score?  In fact, I enjoy seeing Illinois and Hawaii get slaughtered since they really had no right being in those games in the first place.  But you play the teams that the BCS assigns.

Reicht goes both ways,
against rival Florida he tried to motivate his players by telling them to get an unsportsman like penalty after their first score but against Vanderbilt this year GA won on a last second field goal at Vandy.  The entire team rushed the field and started dancing on Vandy's logo at midfield until Mark Reicht came over and literally began pushing his players off the field and back into the locker room before he was interviewed on TV.  He was visibly ticked off and during the interview he apologized to all of Vandy's fans and players for his team's behavior.  Seemed genuine and sincere but all that seemed lost after the GA/FL game and I guess for what was going on last night. (I didn't watch the game)

Speaking of stupid behavior, besides USC/Illinios you could see all the trash talking going on during the Michigan/FLA game, i mean come on, just play already.

I might be a USC Homer ( I am wearing my USC Sweatshirt)
The Difference was USC had their second stringers in the game for much of the 4th quarter.  A lot of people are giving PC flack for going for that TD with 24 seconds left.  The truth is that USC had its 3rd string in.  Thats right not 1st not 2nd but third string in for that hole drive and he wanted to reward them for it.  From what I heard from my best friend who was at the game (Illinois Fan) he said that most of the USC fans were actually cheeering loudly for the local seniors who had a chance to get in the game.

As for Georgia... That is a different story as they had their first stringers in and just wanted to bury Hawaii.  The sad part is a lot of UGA fans probably didnt think Hawaii was a state.

I was cheering for Hawaii but it wasnt mean to be.

HOW BOUT THE CROWD HAWAII BROUGHT!!!!!!!!
It reminded me of when Marquette fans filled that dome and I believe a lot of people were worried we wouldnt sell our allotment

Agree with the difference between USC and Georgia... USC acted like they have been there before, UGA sure didn't.  How bout Georgia saying they should be in the national championship, they didn't even win their conference.

Yes Hawaii's crowd was amazing, just sad to see them not be able to cheer as much.  Their mascot is great, their celebratory dance at the beginning is fantastic if you haven't seen it, here you go

They use to do the Haka Dance, but it a native Hawaiian dance... however the All Blacks, New Zealand's National Rugby team does that chant, and it scares the poop off of you, although its purely to honor their land.

back to Hawaii, they told a stat on recruiting funds for the school and team... their coach receives $50,000 for recruiting, he hasn't made a recruiting trip onto the mainland US in 3 years, thats amazing that they are still good.

Love college football.  Hate the antics.  I am tired of players being down by thrity and tauting after stopping a 1st and 10 run off tackle.  Tired of players standing over other players and making it known that they are taller?  Mark Richt was po'd his team was passed over, and his arrogance and lack of class lives in his players.  Great team, lousy character.

Missouri and Kansas couldn't both be in because of the problems with the BCS.  Only two teams from each conference can make a BCS bowl, and since Oklahoma was already in as the winner, one of those two had to be out.  Stupid rule, but the smaller conferences wanted it.

Yeah, so classless of Georgia to run up the score on Hawaii.

I want to know how Hawaii can now be known as the Warriors vs. the Rainbows or the Rainbow Warriors?  Isn't the Rainbow Eagle the state bird?

Yes you are correct that UGA did not win their conference but there are no rules that state you have to win your conference to be in the national championship game.  See Oklahoma playing for the national championship a few years back.  Also, contrary to what has been stated on ESPN, UGA was co-champions of the SEC East (tied with Tenn).  http://www.secsports.com/index.php?s=&url_channel_id=2&change_well_id=1

UGA fans are upset that they are not playing in the national championship game because they were 4th in the BCS standings (1 spot behind OSU) and the #1 and #2 teams lost.  If there was any justice, #3 & #4 would have moved up to #1 & #2.  UGA did not receive the same courtesy as OSU and instead were jumped in the final BCS standings by 3 teams (2 of which lost their bowl games).

As far as starters being out of the game, Moreno (1st string RB) barely played, Stafford (1st string QB) was pulled in early part of the 4th quarter and UGA got its 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string QB's into the game!  UGA also pulled Thomas Brown in the 4th quarter and gave Lumpkin (3rd string RB) most of the carries.  Finally, the freshmen starting LT, Sturtivant, left in beginning of the 2nd half due to a sprained ankle and didn't return.  If the game was closer, he would have been back in the next series.  If you don't think UGA could have put up 60 or 70 on UH, you must not have been watching the same game.

And finally for those whiny Florida fans, Richt did not tell his players to celebrate on the field and draw a personal foul penalty.  He told his team to show some emotion and celebrate after scoring their first touchdown.  He told them he didn't care whether they got a penalty as long as they celebrate... he said he never expected his players to rush to the end zone to celebrate.  The reason he wanted them to celebrate was not to show up UF but because his team came out flat in its two prior games (Vandy & Tenn).  Finally, I find it ironic that Florida fans would continue to bring this up when they were dancing at midfield and taunting the Michigan players prior to their bowl game!  How's that different?  Well UGA was celebrating as a team while thug UF was looking to taunt.  Nice work UF... you lost to an unranked Big Ten team!!!

BTW... for a good read on the folks down at UF, read the following article from their friends at FSU... http://floridastate.scout.com/2/717125.html  My favorite quote... "the arrests of Cunningham and Demps put the Gator program into double-digits. Below is just a highlight of the arrests and drug problems under Meyer's tenure as head coach"

You can bad mouth Coach Richt and UGA all you want but at least get your facts straight.
