Big day for our boys.  How many lines do we fall with a concerning loss to Dayton?

None, Marquette isn't the only team that can't stop Antetokounmpo

Committee will see a team that only gets the easy wins.

But the Secret Ccommittee will see everything.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

In the twitter video from the scrimmage win, with Katin hitting the 3, the lineup looks to be:
Howard
Cheatham
JJJ
Katin
Heldt

It's just an exhibition game so do we really care who won or not. If it came down to the last shot it would appear our defense needs work.

Your first and second sentences kinda contradict each other though?

If it's an exhibition do we really care how are defense was?

If we won by 30 would you still say the same about the D?

Therefore we do care if we won or not. If we won by 30, awesome!
But if we won by only a little, as you said, then our D needs work.
But if we lost by 30, the. Our D and O need work.

So yes, even within your statement, we (and you) care.

1. Yes it's an exhibition and we shouldn't  really care.

2. Ignoring that, we beat a top 25 team and your takeaway that the defense sucks because it was a close game? And we have no idea what the score was so how would you know the defense was poor?

I feel that a close game to Dayton would give more insight than a 30pt W over rockhurst would.

brewcity77

Let's be clear, we didn't "beat" a top-25 team today, we scrimmaged one. Who knows which players played, how seriously they played, and how the rules were interpreted. How much time of the scrimmage was on situations? How often was it "Let's try that exact same thing again to see if we can do it better"? Who knows if Marquette won one out of three 10-minute games?

At the end of the day, it's a fine experience, but not the same as actually playing and beating a top-25 team. Until we get to Annapolis, all the rest, win or lose, is icing. We could lose to Rockhurst and still make the Tournament.

I agree......can't believe we didn't shut them out...

So what's he saying, really?  That Virginia Tech had a poor scrimmage?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

"as the summer progressed, Miller said the coaching staff started to get an indication that there might be deficiencies with his transcript."

Only about nine months later than everyone else in Division I.

You're not looking hard enough then.

But the reality is you should've just said, "Saw this in another thread and want my thread clicks to go through the roof!"

Nice video about the trip.  I'm laughing that Markus brought his passport to fly to Indy.

To be fair, he's only 17. If he doesn't drive that may be the only ID he has.

I thought of that.  But I wasn't laughing that I thought it was dumb that it did it.  It was kind of charming.

4 point road win over a top 25 team? Scrimmage or not, I like it!

Great video, surprised the NCAA allows them to show that much.
