I'm not sure it is "empty and void of substance."  It is an announcement that the new campus master plan will be unveiled.  It is just done so in a "non-traditional" way.  (Hey to Chicos.)

I am pretty sure that this isn't official Marquette communication.  It is written by a friend of glow jr. who graduated last year and has a job somewhere else.  My guess is that this is basically her personal Marquette fanpage (and not just sports). This entire site is basically a collection of Marquette-related blogs, mostly written by students and recent alumni.

If you don't like it, don't read it.  There are countless other posts on the Interwebs that might not offend your sensibilities as much.

The style of listicle that's bullet point - gif - bullet point - gif is inane, useless, and exists just to be clickbait. It also has the side effect of being created in a manner where the "media" companies exploit content creators to produce that drivel for them.

If buzzfeed has managed to develop a legitimate non-clickbait business, good for them, but I will maintain my hatred for bullet point - gif clickbait to the grave.

Marquette's Twitter also directs you to Father Marquette's Twitter feed,  which is basically a statue of our beloved namesake making random observations, often in French. However,  I don't think they would put the statue in front of a microphone at an official press conference. 

Besides, doesn't the Athletic Department often retweeted the basketball players?  How many of those are chock full of substance?

Im not saying its the highest quality of journalism, but its sure as hell entertaining. There are actually some very good long form pieces from buzzfeed, they have some talented writers as well but more so along the multimedia side for youtube content.
