We're speaking with ten bloggers or writers, each covering a different Big East hoops team. We did this so we could learn about each team from someone who knows them best.

Today, we have a conversation about Bulldogs basketball, with ButlerHoops.com.

Butler guy seems to be pretty high on his team this year. He says ceiling is 2nd and floor is 5th-6th, bubble team. They return Kelan Martin but lose Dunham and Jones.

He also seems to be pretty low on Marquette. Chose us to finish 7th, and says: "I think [Butler] is clearly below Villanova but better than Providence, Marquette, St. John's, and DePaul." Ouch. Bad company.

What do you think of that quote?

I just roll my eyes and say, "Yes, you guys are the new Duke, Stevens would never leave Butler, Hinkle is Cameron Indoor, and you're the best program in Indiana." Can't tell you how many Butler fans were saying that the night before we knocked them out of the NCAAs and the week before Brad Stevens left for the NBA.

I give the Butler guards a little more credit than others are giving. That said the guys they are replacing were extremely effective. I think Butler upside is 3rd more likely  4th or 5th.

It seems as every one of these bloggers has us around 7th. So nothing new there.

Vanderbilt, Mich, PITT/SMU, Wisconsin , Georgia games will give us a great idea were we stand.

Martin is excellent and Chrabascz is good, but with the questions at guard, I just don't get why they are ranked and seen as such a threat this year. I'd be very surprised to see them in the top-3. Can't understate how important guard play is. I think they'll struggle to find their way until they prove their backcourt can compete. Lewis flopped and I'm not convinced Savage can play at this level. They look like a bubble team to me, and right now, I would say outside looking in.

Agreed. Seems like they have Martin and Chrabascz and ....? Not sure why so much love. They're definitely in the Middle of the pack with the rest of us but I see them in the bottom half of the BE.
