I know none of you are college football fans (given that Marquette no longer has a team), so if any of you Milwaukee-area Scoopers were planning on sitting at home twiddling your thumbs next Saturday night, I thought I would offer an alternative.

As their Senior Capstone project, glow jr. and some of his classmates produced a film called "Closed Mondays".  It has the distinction of being the first Marquette student film ever to be accepted into the Milwaukee Short Film Festival in its 18-year history. It will be shown at 8:30 on September 10 at ComedySportz (421 S. 1st).  Please come out and support these talented young Marquette alums.

Here is a nice article about the movie and its creators:

And here is more information about the Film festival:

Also, as a recent graduate of our fine College of Communications,  glow jr. is very ready to share his video and other digital/social media talents with the rest of the world.  If any of you know of networking opportunities for him, please let glow or me know.
Have some patience, FFS.

This one of those "naughty" films?

Guess you will just have to drive down from Minneapolis and find out for yourself.

There's an 83 alum that performs part time at Comedy Sportz

Very cool and congrats. Mrs Goose and I will try and make it. I will get brownie points making a date night suggestion.

chickadee ... I definitely would go if I lived in or close to Milwaukee. I believe in supporting stuff like this. Hopefully, you get some to show.

It's never a bad thing to say how wonderful our kids are. Best of luck to glow jr!

Chick,  long way from the area so won't be able to check it out.  As to the second aspect.  What areas is glow jr. interested in going into?  Depending on his goals I may have some people I could put him in touch with.

MU Fan in Connecticut

Does it refer to the fact that most pizza restaurants are closed on Monday?

His passion is video production, especially editing.  As an example, here is one of my favorite videos of his.  In great Warrior fashion, it is about booze, and was filmed on location at Caffrey's (formerly the Ardmore):

That being said, he is willing to consider anything in the communications/marketing space that will get his foot in the door and give him additional experience.  His first choice of location is Milwaukee, followed by Chicago.

Thanks for asking.

If any of you have seen any of Marquette's 'Difference Makers' series over the last couple years that's entirely his work.  I think they currently have his Wings for Autism running.

That video was fun and freaky, chickadee.

The opening sequence, with the beer being poured to the backdrop of the Apollo 11 mission, would make an excellent beer commercial!

I wish glow jr, and all the glows, good fortune.

Too bad the banhammer came down on Chicos... that guy knew everyone in the business.  In fact, he probably had lunch with all of them last week.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Maybe we can get this thing shown at ComedySportz in Los Angeles:

They must have connections to those in "the business." Quite a few Hollywood types from MU.

That would be awesome, but I don't think this particular movie is considered a comedy.  I am pretty sure the Film Festival is just using ComedySportz as a venue.  They are showing all different types of movies.

Hey Eagle. Do you know anyone that has contact info for Chicos. I am sure he would be a great resource for networking. Just asking since you live in the same area.

Yeah... don't hear of too many "comedy porns", although a lot of them are funny, I hear
