State Fair Phenomenon

And .. I get that, I guess.  But are all those cows, horses, pigs, goats, bunnies .. are they all entered in "best of" competitions?   (I would have guessed that only some of them are.)

The winner of a county/multi county fair is usually eligible to go to state....how many county fairs are there in the state?
There were 96 county fairs in Minnesota in 2016...if only half decide to go on to state it makes for some pretty full exhibit barns

Yeah, but they are all about equal, except some of them are more EQUAL than the others

MN state fair occasionally has good music. That's an understandable draw, IMO.

People-watching is good.

What surprises me is how many folks go there to SHOP, and many of them make BIG purchases. Lots of vendors do well there.

Come on Keefe. Posting pictures of attractive women is one thing. But lowering them to "animals" for men's consumption is a little too much.

That, and most anyone past Waukesha is scared to come to the big, bad city. Probably doesn't help that we had that little riot (err...flash mob) at the State Fair a few years back. I'd love to know the county-by-county breakdown for the Wisconsin State Fair. I'd guess 90% of the attendees are from Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Washington, Ozaukee, and Kenosha Counties. Other than the exhibitors, it's pretty much all city or city-suburb folk.

In Chicago we call riots Ethnic Street Festivals.
