Concept of Alabama Home and Home
« on: April 19, 2016, 06:54:28 PM »
I would love to see us schedule a home and home sometime with Alabama. It seems like we are competing for a lot of the same recruits. Also I am a big Avery Johnson fan and  would enjoy seeing our team beat a brand name coach and his team.  I know we are scheduled up for a while but hopefully in a few years we can make something like this happen.

Seriously.  Might as well post a thread titled "Gigi Hadid is my girlfriend" while he is at it.
Have some patience, FFS.

We have had non tournament  games in recent years with LSU, Vandy and  Florida from the SEC, so why is it silly to schedule Alabama ? Avery Johnson is a charismatic coach who had a winning record in the NBA and is building up something good at Alabama. Why not? I would rather see a game versus the Tide than versus Presbyterian.

I agree with this.

Also, Kostas agrees with this too.

Jean Felix - grrrrrrr....

That was such a bizarre game in the tournament 10 years ago.  Long delay before the start due to bomb threats.  Then Felix comes out of nowhere and just goes nuts hitting 3s.  They had us absolutely buried at halftime and then James and Novak led a huge comeback in the second half.  Got to within 1 and then Novak missed two good looks in the final seconds.  Ughh.

I'm all for a home and home with any team from a major conference, really.  I don't see anything unique about Alabama but would play them early since in November or December their fans are still focused on football anyway.
