In case you're tired of baseball, NBA and NHL playoffs, the D-League Western COnference Finals - LA D-fenders v. Austin Spurs - is on ESPNU.  LA leads the 3 game series 1-0.

So I saw this thread and actually turned on the game ... and they postponed the game because of condensation on the floor.

The attendance looked like a UW-milwaukee game....

Vander Blue...the only player to have significant games called due to condensation at both the college and pro level.

Benny B

I can't believe people still haven't figured this out... if it's going to be humid, put some damn radiant heat cables underneath the court to keep the floor a few degrees above the dew point.

My God, go to Menards and buy a few boxes of the 240V cables that they lay below tile.  A couple thousand to insure that condensation will never be an issue... seems well worth it to me.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Vander's 1262 points (26.3 per game) are the second most in D-League history.  His 1142 last season rank number four.

His FG% are down from last year, but as noted he attempts 9 FT's a game.

Dude's gotta get another chance at some point - right?

I mean, some of the dudes that get 10 contracts in the league - and Vander can't seem to get another one.  Seems weird.

Have any of those guys in that list gotten a significant call up to the bigs?
Ivan Johnson had 125 games over 2 seasons.

Not many spots for a shooting guard who can't shoot in the Association, ai'na?

The Lens

Vander needs to take his game to Europe and start making some money.  I would chase the NBA dream through training camps and then get overseas.

Just looked and you may be right.  Of the 61 D-leaguers who took enough 3-pointers to be included in the stats for 3-pt%, Vander ranks 54th.

It's always been his problem.

I certainly saw that at MU, but the scoring stats led me (erroneously) to conclude that maybe his shot had improved.  I'd love to see Vander get another go in the league, but it might take a Matthews type of transition in his outside shooting.

Not that erroneously. He shot 41.7% beyond the arc last year, so it's understandable to think he improved his outside shot. Not sure what led to it dipping back down this year, but based on his three seasons in the D-League, it would seem last year's improvement was the outlier.

I could walk to his home games, maybe that's what I'll do this week.....check out a game.

Herman Cain

I am tremendously impressed by Vanders dedication to his dream. I think someday he will realize on it. All he needs is one coach to believe in him.
