That show had multiple Marquette mentions. That was airing when we were a Blue Blood.

Did you have to drink too many times playing the "Bob" game that you can't get the first name correct?

LOL.  I'm getting old.  Yes, Bob Newhart.

Loved The White Shadow and was close enough to our Blue Blood days. Never missed the Shadow. If memory serves me it was on Thursday nights.

I had a White Shadow version of this game as a kid.

MUEng92

I had that game.  I don't remember if it was White Shadow branded, but I definitely had that game.

I remember playing that as a kid. A classic.

Other classics of the era:

McCormick had an intense Strat-O-Matic Baseball League. I was the Orioles, of course.

I had Strat-O-Matic baseball as a kid and maybe 10 years ago five 40 something buddies and I resurrected it as a boys night out every Wednesday.  Go to each others house, drink beer, eat meatball subs or wings or some other no good for you stuff and play Strat-O-Matic.  Played two full seasons (I think each season took about 27 Wednesdays over maybe 30 weeks and took winters off) before we got sick of it.

When my son was young, every Christmas I got him one toy I used to play as kids.  He Liked stuff like Battling Tops and Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em Robots, but he hated electric football.  He did not have the patience to set up every play, when you could do it with Madden in about 2 seconds.  He played it once and never again.

Also, loved White Shadow.  Coolidge was awesome.  Go go Gomez!

Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

I sent a picture of the basketball game to my brother, and he reminded me that at one point I insisted that we make the mid-court shots 3 pointers.  We then played, and he won on a three point shot when he was down two.  I go so pissed that I destroyed the game by bending the cardboard basket supports in half.

I have no recollection of this incident, but I have no doubts it is completely accurate.

Spotcheck Billy

My brother and I played the Tudor NFL Strategy football as kids where you had to pick your plays on offense and defense.

This is the football game that we had.

Man yall are old. Though my dad had strat o matic that I played like twice. Favorite old time game that he had was shootout at the OK corral. Never played electronic football but I played the crap out of techmo bowl. Run 1 with Bo Jackson was unstoppable.

Mattell Talking Football for me.

Dick Enberg - "A leaping interception, he's going to go all the way...TOUCHDOWN!"

Since I was hockey family we always had some version of this in the house.  My brother and I kept wearing it out!

I had the Mattel talking basketball.  Enberg: "...the rebound--blocked AGAIN by Alcindor, and Lew takes control of the ball!  **LONG DISTORTED BUZZER SOUND**
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.
