Yes.  I believe it was him or JJJ.  Can't remember if JJJ committed so Nunn looked at Illinois or in reverse.

ChitownSpaceForRent

Nunn was never coming here. Just gave MU a courtesy interest because he was close with Steve Taylor.

OK thanks.  Couldn't remember the whole story.

Yep.  I thought I had used the obvious pun back in the day, and I found it:

Yep.  For those two schools, it's Nunn of the above.
Have some patience, FFS.

True. He never had serious interest.

The way I remember it, MU was considered the leader for Nunn, most thought he was coming here.  He came to a lot of games.  Then Illinois came in late and got him.  May have been a playing time issue.  The never had any serious interest line sounds like sour grapes to me, but maybe after his committing to Illinois some stuff came out.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Illinois came in late, and went through his AAU coach (was it Mac Fire?) right after Groce was hired.

I remember Nunn being a real tool.  He would challenge MU and Illini fans to retweet him saying he would commit to the school that retweeted him more (this was all BS).  Then their was word that he strung along both MU and IL as he really wanted UCLA or Kentucky and kept begging them for a schollie.  They never offered.

I believe this is how it went down. MU was the "leader", but he never wanted to come here. Then groce put on a presentation at his official visit that was "pretty much legendary" according to his old man. That's when it was clear that MU wasn't getting Nunn.

That name is very familiar, but feels like it was a long time ago.

Second domestic battery arrest for an Illini player in the last week, fourth arrest this year.  That would be enough to make Buzz feel squirmy.

The other domestic battery case this week was Jaylon Tate, Nunn's HS teammate at Simeon (and both were HS teammates if STj and Jabari Parker), Illini teammate and roommate at IL!

Were they having a contest to see who could get arrested first for beating up their girlfriend?
