It is obviously simply my opinion that Darner was an upgrade.  But if you look at his track record, you can see how successful he has been.  Took over two bottom feeder D2 programs, got one to the playoffs and got another the D2 championship.  His teams play an exciting style, and I like his coaching philosophy.  Wants his players playing loose.  After the Wright State game he said something like "sometimes teams pass too much.  They make seven passes and the first one ends up the best one."

I think Wardle is an OK coach, but I thought his teams played too tight at times.  He overcoaches them IMO.  And then there was that whole player incident which I hope he learned from.

I am agnostic on Wardle. I think I saw two UWGB games during his era, including a win over us, and no Bradley games this season. I'm not sticking up for him at all. I simply am leery of declarative statements when they are opinions.

I also have not seen a single Darner-coached game. I'll try hard to watch UWGB's tourney game ... unless it conflicts with ours - ha! I have heard good things about him. Who knows ... he might be our next coach after Wojo leaves for Duke following the third straight S16-or-better run!!

Or .... it's always good when he goes away.

How do I like this? ;)

If this becomes an axiom of sorts, he should be blessed as it equates to job security for life!

That has always been my thought on how to play. The sole purpose of running an offense is to get good shots on every possession. What difference does it make if that is after one pass or seven passes.

Of course there are times at the end of games where you need to run some clock, but as far as your basic offense, I like what he says.

Three freshman recruits have just transferred out of Bradley.  I have a concern over the player turnover rate Wardle has had as a head coach.

Well it depends who they were.  He had 10 freshmen, he needed some to "move on".

Still has 7 left!  Probably a great thing in balancing classes and I would guess some were there to fill out the bench anyway.

I like to see our alumni do well as it reflects well on MU. Wardle was a very good player for us and I was very happy to see his success at UWGB. Hopefully he can get the Bradley program going strong soon.  I will be rooting for him.
