This probably doesn't warrant a new thread, but it's an off day and I'm bored.

The media is doing their typical mock selection that they do each year. They have "selected" 24 teams (seeds 1-6) into the tournament. They are considering 35 more teams for at large bids. Marquette is one of those teams.

Final list only puts in 4 Big East (VU, XU, PU, & Butler).  No love for SHU, Georgetown, Creighton or Marquette (though we were under consideration unlike Creighton).

7 PAC 12 teams seems really high to me.

This Mock Selection was terrible. No Seton Hall? Wisconsin safely in?

Not saying those things are out of the realm of possibility....but right now? No way.

How did they determine auto bids?  Valpo is ahead of Oakland in the Horizon standings by three games.  Did they use RPI?
