The media is doing their typical mock selection that they do each year. They have "selected" 24 teams (seeds 1-6) into the tournament. They are considering 35 more teams for at large bids. Marquette is one of those teams.

I'm going to pretend this means that RPI doesn't matter and therefore the committee will overlook our putrid RPI :)

Post by: The Man in Gold on February 12, 2016, 11:39:28 AM: Final list only puts in 4 Big East (VU, XU, PU, & Butler). No love for SHU, Georgetown, Creighton or Marquette (though we were under consideration unlike Creighton).

7 PAC 12 teams seems really high to me.

How did they determine auto bids? Valpo is ahead of Oakland in the Horizon standings by three games. Did they use RPI?
