The same could probably be said of Georgetown. Their best wins are Wisconsin and Syracuse, both of whom look like paper tigers. They've probably been more impressive in losses against Duke and Maryland, but it's hard to put much faith in a team who has looked best in defeat.

Generally agree but worried GU guards are fast and so far it appears to be one of our serious weaknesses.

Any result today that could make the Kool-Aid drinkers question the wisdom of the contract extension?

The team walking off of the floor in the middle of the game.    I expect a lopsided loss, so anything other than a complete meltdown......

Well, it's good to know you don't even expect us to compete after an embarrassing home loss.  It was good to see bounce-back after Iowa - I'd be disheartened if we don't see the same today (don't need to win, but let's at least keep the TV on until the under 4:00 TO eh?)

I expect effort.   I just think the first conference road game is going to be a bigger mountain to climb than the first conference home game for these kids.    As I would for any team this inexperienced.    Still one of the 5 least experienced teams in D1.

Let's just hand out participation trophies while we're at it.

I'm hoping this works out as well as Towers 1-4 start prediction.

If Wojo is who we all think he is (or at least who we want to think he is) today will be a single-digit game.  This isn't Villanova.  This isn't Butler.  This isn't Xavier.  If we can't keep this one close than you are basically admitting we aren't going to be anywhere near .500 in conference play which at least might make a disinterested, external, observer say "huh".   Not that we have any of those here.

Missed by 3 pts in regulation.   Counting Wisconsin, I am 6 pts away from my worst case scenario predictions.    But, MU managed to win 3 close games, two of which the opponent missed good looks to win in regulation.

Would a MU Win make you feel LESS about Wojo?

We're essentially in year one of a rebuild. I give Wojo a pass on last year with Buzz's broken roster. Any progress this year is a positive, and contracts aren't earned on single game results, they are earned on season results and program trajectory. But I already addressed earlier this week that there are no downsides to the contract extension. Wojo can still be fired if it goes bad, it's good for PR, and it helps recruiting. Anyone assigning more meaning to the contract than that is just looking for reasons to piss and moan.

I like our chances if Wojo made the team practice in ancient Roman style athletic gear since the SHU loss.

Let's be clear:

1) contract means nothing

2) if we win, it's only because GT sucks
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Just curious what you mean? Hasn't it been 3 straight years missing the tourney. I thought this was suppose to be the good year with our Lotto pick.

I appreciate your posts on here, well informed.

Tyler Foster, Keldon Johnson And Luke Garza are also expected at Georgetown

2017 Blair Academy wing Kodye Pugh will attend today's Marquette-Georgetown game

Buzz missed the tourney in 13-14. Wojo was able to add Carlino and that's about it. This is the first year where he had his players in the program.

Gotcha. Thanks that makes sense. Idk why I was thinking it's been 3 years already. Appreciate the clear up. Go MU!

Not sure. Heart says it'll be a good game, but brain says we need to play much much better than we did Wednesday for it to be close.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.
