Hah, pretty funny.

I too use ESPN when I look at the daily slate of games and the results from the previous night. I've noticed they never show games broadcast on FS1, FS2, etc., but I figured it was a network thing.  The fact that they reflected FS1 for the Florida-OK State game is pretty hilarious.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

It's a conscious bias that they don't even try to hide.  Chick almost broke our TV last weekend when the 'stick up his arse' Goodman accused MU of only offering Wally a scholly to get to HE and that Wally 'never' plays.  Um really?  I think he's 8th man out of the 13 suiting up and has played meaningful minutes in fully 80%.

They added a FS1 header to all games listed in the AE article within an hour of posting lol

Hahaha. They even added them to the games not listed in the article (like Marquette's next game vs Chicago State). Wow that was fast!

Funny that happened today, because this has been the case since the Big East split and FS1 formed.

I've been going to the Fox Sports website for my CBB tv listings just because they do a much better job of telling me what game is on which channel. Works great on mobile too, with sorting for conferences. It's everything I ever wanted!

I just watched the replay of Marquette vs Wisconsin.  The game and half time announcers were awful.  Does Espn review the performance of their announcers?  Danish is pitiful and the halftime announcer who looks like he has a mouthful of gum is even worse.  Please upgrade them.

Have some patience, FFS.

When you get SI's Richard Deitsch, things happen. Networks are scared to death of bad reviews from him.

Spell changed Dakisch in my comment.  Sorry.

I know.  I agree with your statement.  Just having fun.

Yeah, I've blasted them on Breitbart for this. It used to be even worse. When Cox landed the women's soccer league during the Mia Hamm era, the game attendance was actually quite good. ESPN refused to even list a score on their ticket, until the championship game when they briefly showed a score on the scroll for a couple of seconds.

I do believe Jay Bilas is fair in general, but the network's monopoly agenda is ridiculous. They've tried to do the same with children viewers with Disney, with only Pixar movies (with the help of one Marquette grad!) Keeping them a little short of a monopoly.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

It really should be no surprise.  ESPN tried to destroy the old Big East (after they turned down a $1 billion offer) by pulling the strings behind the Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Louisville and Rutgers defections and devaluing the product to the point of irrelevancy.  If they had they're way, the C7 (and UConn, Cincinnati) would be relegated to MAC and/or A-10, with the Big East brand in the dumpster along with the old Southwest Conference.

Fox Sports saved us from being grouped with the likes of Tulane, East Carolina, UCF, SMU and Houston (not to mention St. Bonaventure, Fordham, St. Joseph, Duquesne).  We not only escaped purgatory under the ESPN umbrella, but got paid and rewarded handsomely for it by Fox for it for the next 7 years.  Because of our performance and results against the other power programs, we will continue to get paid like a power basketball conference (whether by Fox or another carrier).

Now, ESPN, instead of showing Louisville/Cincinnati, West Virginia/Pittsburgh and Syracuse/UConn matchups, get to show East Carolina/Tulsa, Tulane/UCF, and SMU/USF games on ESPNews and ESPN 2.  I'd say it's pretty clear who the victorious groups were after the realignment phase of 2013.

Like it.

And today's NFL programming hype with 20 million eyeballs?  BEast Doubleheader Hoops on 12/30 & 31.  Seton Hall at Marquette (plus the others)

This makes me think its a reporting error by the Big East and not ESPN. Why one league and not another.

Knowing a bit how publishers work, ESPN almost certainly doesn't invest resources to track down every league office to demand their TV schedule for completeness sake.  They likely issued a memo and sent it to all leagues to tell them how to upload their schedules--and someone in the Big East office office uploaded ours without the TV schedule, hence our games aren't listed with the network listed.

If I recall, our TV schedule was delayed--it looks like the Big 12 announced TV schedules August 8, the Big East not until after labor day on September 8th. So the BE is already late, made a hasty submission, and thus no TV data.

It makes a lot more sense than some conspiracy theory about how ESPN hates the Big East and intentionally stripped out the TV networks for its members games.

Which makes it all more likely its the Big East office--and not ESPN--fixed the error.  Do you really think ESPN is monitoring every D1 schools message boards and blog? All 345 schools?  Or even the top 100 programs?  And somehow THEY caught this within hours and fixed it--despite their known hatred of the Big East?

Or maybe did someone in the MU sports information office catch this as part of their routine monitoring of MU fan boards, pass the info along to the league office, and they fixed it.

Given Val's history of prioritizing furniture ahead of the league website, it wouldn't surprise me at all that this was the Big East's screwup.

ESPN fixed it, not the league. But turns out it was a vendor issue, but still bizarre no one with ESPN noticed it before. It's gone on for a couple years.

Glad to see its fixed, though.

Was the vendor the Big East? Only half joking on this one--

Second, its not bizarre at all that nobody from ESPN noticed it.  They had absolutely no incentive here.

What IS bizarre is that nobody at MU, the Big East office or Fox Sports noticed it.

A good friend of mine is Danish. When he visited the States he saw "Danish" and asked, "What the hell is this?"

Does anyone else find that the ESPN product is declining.  Their website updates are atrocious and make the whole system more difficult to use (I assume it is better for advertising dollars).
