Sandy. Why Wojo starts Johnson over him baffles me.

I thought JJJ did a great job in the first game catching the ball on the outside but then finding the seam in the defense, getting mid-range and taking a nice little jumper.  I didn't see any of that in last nights game.  In a situation where he's not able to get open for mid-range jumpers I agree that Sandy should replace him as he does pretty much everything better than JJJ in those situations.

Luke, double double. Need to get him the ball more. More accurately, we need to make some outside shots so he doesn't get doubled all the time

Also need to figure out better ways to get the ball to Henry down low when Fisher is in; Fisher goes out to the circle, and his defender just sags on Henry b/c Fisher is not outside threat. Maybe have Fisher across the lane from Henry or at the elbow where he can't be unguarded and spread the rest of the guys (who then knock down an occasional shot)

i believe one of the announcers said in the first game that sandy is coming off the bench because wojo wants someone with experience that can come in and make a difference.  unfortunately, i don't think jjj could fill that role.  in the end jjj played 19 minutes and sandy played 40....

That's what matters. Who starts doesn't. Remember former starter Erik Williams?

Agreed.  I'm fine with Sandy as 6th man, as long as he continues to get starter's minutes.

Maybe he makes a run for BE 6th Man of the Year! :)

I'm going with Fish.  44 minutes.  Double/double.  Defense not where it needs to be but much better down stretch.  Chief close second.

Haanif or sandy for sure - remember lukes first couple game last year where he was blocking everything?  Man - he's got to get over that hump again

This is all that matters.

There are guys in the Hall of Fame who spent a good part of their pro careers coming off the bench -- McHale, Havlicek, Jones, etc.

I coach (at a slightly lower level than the NBA or college) and I do not start my "best 5," either. I like to have somebody with energy off the bench. But believe me, I have my best 5 on the court during crunch time. On a given night, my best 5 might change slightly based on how they are playing.

And woke up to the 5:35 alarm.
Have some patience, FFS.

Spotcheck Billy

What about those that only drove 10 miles but got up at 4am? Didn't know we could be SOTG

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is his first SOTG isn't it?

You are correct.  I was surprised he didn't get one last year.  But then I was also shocked (because I wiped it from my memory ) we only had 13 studs last year

Henry alone should get that many this year. However, I am not voting for him when he misses key free throws.

He was 8-12. Considering our history with free throws, we should hang a banner for that stat line.

Since it seems like more fouls might be called this year, would you consider including the FT stats under the SOG's picture?

I understand that, and I'm not one to harp on FTs.

But that is two games in a row -- the only two games he has played -- that he went 0-for-2 from the line at a key juncture of the game.

Some have very unreasonable expectations for Henry. I think making at least one FT in such clutch situations is a reasonable one.

Two games isn't a pattern or trend, however. Let's see how he does in similar situations in the future. I have a feeling he'll do great.
