According to MUBB's Instagram post, there will be a new Al McGuire Court. Maybe it will be what they did to the Al's main court as well.

If we're getting a new court that's like the new Al McGuire Center one, that would go against the thinking that we're getting new uniforms soon - or at least drastically changed ones.

Ugh.... Good point.

ChitownSpaceForRent

I love that court though. I hope they use that model. It's such a clean design.

If teams can use retro uniforms, why not use retro courts?  I'd love to see the Indiana design used again.

Robert Indiana, not IU for those who don't know.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Personally, I wish the Big East had a weekend/day where all the matchups had teams use retro jerseys.  Our conference members have such a rich history in basketball that we all should acknowledge/embrace it annually each year.

What has happened with the floor?  It was back up for sale at the beginning of this year, but I haven't seen any updates.

MU Fan in Connecticut

Last I saw was this earlier this year but nothing since.

This is an idea I can definitely get behind. I love when MLB does retro jerseys. Doing this for the NCAA would be awesome.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

It's possible that "new court" means the wood itself is new, but the paint job is the same.

Marquette specifically said that the BC court won't look like the AMC court when the pics from the renovation at the Al was underway.

I suspect that it's a new paint job. Chick and I noticed that it was in quite bad shape up close when we attended the post season dinner.  Looks good.

Eldon

Just talked to Chicos.  He suggested that when MU is in the tourney, we use this court design

Replica of the Al center? Or is it different

The Al Center is a replica of the BC Court.
Have some patience, FFS.

Makes sense that the Al is a replica of the BC court. Since they can't practice on their home court, they may as well replicate it. Gotta help to promote 'intuitive' spacing on the court. Still don't get used to the different backdrop for shooting though.

There are some differences between the Al's main court and the BC's version.  I'm not sure what the Al's court that the men's team practices on looks like, though.

Marquette does do some practices at the Bradley Center. Just had one on Wednesday on the Bucks floor.

I would love it if MU bought the Robert Indiana MECCA floor and used it at the new arena.  That would be outstanding!

That might be nice for the 100th anniversary along with some sort of throwback jersey.  But not as a regular floor.
