This is absurd but not so absurd that the natural reaction is to think it must be true.  On the surface, it sounds like an effort to blackmail or exact revenge against the institution by someone who feels slighted by the team/university.

What probably happened was the athlete and the daughter were having relations on their own accord, the mother knew about it but neither facilitated nor discouraged it, the relationship soured at some point, the athlete got into some sort of trouble with the university or became disgruntled, the athlete claimed the mother was coercing the relationship, the mother is fired because it's considered a de facto code-of-conduct violation, lawyers are hired, media picks up, 4ever posts it on Scoop, Benny comes in with his usual response of unfettered skepticism, Chicos tells us about the time he was in the same room with a guy who is in charge of NBC's ND programming, Keefe reminds us that ND is inferior to Michigan, Chili83 talks about the fish he caught on the St. Joes River years ago, Heisenberg links to an article from an obscure news source containing statistics about South Bend, someone makes reference to having someone else on ignore, everyone else chimes in with a "fu@k ND," and life goes on.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

You left the eventual adherence to the Godwin law....but other than that it's a pretty ok summary.

Someone go to the press conference on this and ask if they think Indiana had anything to do with this getting reported.

You forgot to mention mu03eng's lamenting that if only he had a bigger unit he could have soared like an eagle in the Air Force instead of slumming it in the Navy...

ND really sucks.
