I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

DJO's Jaw

Probably Kris Dunn. A lot of people have him picked for their national player of the year already, so I think he'd have to have a very bad year or someone would have to blow him out of the water for him not to win Big East POY.

Loose Cannon

I'm taking Henry.  I'm a big fan of THIS team and think his surrounding players will make it easier for Henry to display his skills.

Rooting for Henry (or any MU player) - but Dunn is a special player and my pick.  Considering Providence has little around him, and is still being picked to finish in the half of the Big East, it shows how valuable and skillful he is to the Friars.

brewcity77

Put me down for DSR. Georgetown should be one of the top two in the league this year and he's the clear standout on that team. I like Dunn, but I don't think the team is good enough. Last year Henton helped a lot, this year I think they look like a fringe NCAA team.

frozena pizza

Hate to say it but I had to go with Smith-Rivera.

Eldon

I also went with my man DSR.

I hesitated because of the options of Dunn and Billy Garrett Jr. (BGJ)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but didn't BGJ go on an absolute tear the final stretch of the season, say, the last five games of the season.  I seem to remember him absolutely DOMINATING DePaul games toward the end of the season.

GooooMarquette

I went with Dunn, but my second pick would have been Smith-Rivera.  IMHO, Dunn is the better player, but DSR is the best player on the better team.  The winner might depend on which the voters think is more important.

A lot of prognosticators are alternating between Marquette and Providence for finishing fifth in the Big East with most thinking five Big East teams will make the tournament.  So, whoever has the best year between Henry and Dunn could decide which team goes to the big dance.  I hope not.  I think that experience makes Dunn getting POY much more likely than Henry.

I'm guessing that the one vote for "other" was for Jalen Brunson.  Jalen Reynolds of Xavier and Isaac Copeland of Georgetown are two other guys listed as second most likely on their teams who might break through.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

DePaul also lost their last 8 games and 11 of their last 12. The POY will come from a winning team. Maybe Leitao will get them back to winning, but it won't be a one year turnaround.

Dunn this year reminds me of Marshon Brooks in 2011. Outstanding player with nothing around him. Outside of Bentil Providence returns absolutely no offense, and Bentil isn't exactly bringing back huge numbers himself.

Where is the option for Duane Wilson?

He's right at the bottom. He's labeled as "Other"

Bluiett averaged less points and assists than Duane not sure he should be on here if Duane isn't

Roosevelt Jones is going to end up winning POY.  He basically does everything and Butler will be right there for the championship. And hes a senior which voters tend to lean towards.

I also am going with DSR because of Providence's team outlook being less rosy than Gtown's.

I think it would be a REAL stretch for the coaches to vote a freshman as POY since they'd have to give him the ROY award as well. Even if he might deserve it (which HE might).
