96 degree ocean temperatures?  This planet is so effed.

Wait until a tropical storm/hurricane gets a load of that.

Nestle. Swiss should not be making pizza.

Sorry, to revisit this, but Kraft bought Jacks, then Nestle bought Kraft.

But yes, raclette and fondue are more their speed.

Scientists invent whitest paint ever to help cool the planet
https://www.independent.co.uk/climate-change/news/purdue-whitest-paint-planet-cool-b2374605.html

"Scientists have unveiled a white paint that can reflect the sun’s rays off the Earth’s surface, which could help cool the planet.

Dr Xiulin Ruan – a mechanics engineering professor at Purdue University – and his team first revealed the paint in 2020, which can reflect up to 98 per cent of the sun’s rays, the New York Times reported on Wednesday. The paint can cool surfaces up to eight degrees Fahrenheit in the middle of the day and up to 19 degrees Fahrenheit at night."

Do not, my friend, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence!

The response to this from deniers has been: "They didn't really measure that right. There were 2-3 days that didn't get to 110." Seriously.

With so many things apparently being so doomed that each merits its own thread ...

This thread is obviously doomed.

Hawaii is doomed.

The controversial Westboro Baptist Church, based in Kansas, claimed that Hawaii will be "utterly destroyed" on Sunday.

Naples, Fl has plenty of water and has never recorded a 100 degree temperature. It was 99 once.

My old hometown recorded 7 days of 100+ temps in the summer of 1988 alone.

The idea that the billions of people on the planet living under less than first world conditions will be OK with staying that way or that those living in first world countries will settle for less to save the planet is fanciful.

The idea that science/technology will come to the rescue makes sense.

Science/technology IS coming to the rescue. Unfortunately, the science deniers and those who profit from damaging technologies are doing their best to prevent it with phony claims and red herrings.
Among those phony claims: Any effort to slow and/or reverse climate change will notably reduce our quality of living.

Cool.  You're three feet above sea level.  Though that is probably a problem for future residents.
