Sultan has selective memory. There have been a number of posters here that said he should not play point, and a number have said because he does not have the handles or other reasons. Will not chalk it up as being wrong. Maybe the exact words were not "He cannot play the point", because different posters had different reasons--hell people have said HE could play point--or bring the ball up. And since you feel that you are the statement monitor, your statements will be subject to that scrutiny. BTW--that was just one thread--which you asked for--now you go look up others--they are out there. I will move on to pursue truth, justice and the American way. You can go out of your way to prove somebody wrong. Good try though!

willie, you're getting grumpy.  Have a Mazos burger.

What I took from reading that linked thread was that Mark Miller was predicting Engine to UConn!  Welcome Mr. Coffey!   ;D

Actually, that's not accurate. Miller predicted Carter to Marquette on March 4 and was the first to do so. He stuck with that pick.

As Jay Bee will happily point out, Crystal Ball is to be taken with a grain of salt much of the time, but when it comes to MU targets, I do trust Miller's picks on there. Hoping he's wrong about Coffey, but as others have pointed out, another 2/3 in that class isn't our biggest need. Would much rather a PF with our last scholarship (or one of our last two, if HE heads to the NBA).

Georgetown just lost to BC Atletas 90-85.

FWIW GT played that game without DSR or Tre Campbell, their two main options at the point.

I think GTown also played the team from Iceland and won by about 10 (and like us were losing going into the 4th Q). How badly did we beat Atletas and how good id GTown supposed to be this year?

We beat Atletas by 17 and Lunardi has Georgetown as a 6 seed in his preseason bracketology.

That'll drop a few lines now for sure. And Atletas doesn't even have a Michael Beasley equivalent!

My guess is Georgetown will probably be picked 2nd in the Big East coaches poll this year, though anywhere 2-4 is possible.

Of course, summer/preseason games should always be taken with a grain of salt. I remember Syracuse famously losing an exhibition game to Division II Le Moyne College in 2009. It was so destructive to their program that they only managed to win the Big East, earn a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and post a 30-5 (15-3) record en route to a Sweet 16 appearance before losing to eventual national runner-up Butler.

So maybe it's significant, but it may also just be a team not taking a meaningless exhibition as seriously as fans often do.

What are gtowns other two games on their trip?

And have they played them yet? Or just two so far?

Yeah, from watching the games, they appeared to be the best team we played, with Atletas a close 2nd.  But again, tough to really tell.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

MU and GTown played different "Select" teams.

Having watched all four games, I'm comfortable in saying that Haukar was the best team MU played over there.

Atletas and Vicenza the two best teams we played? I would say Haukar was the best team we played, and not just because of the margin of victory. They seemed most on the same page and the most dangerous in terms of being able to put points up in a hurry.

Maybe the games just blended together.  Admittedly didn't watch the last two all that closely.  I thought MU looked signficantly better in games 2-4 than game 1, so I think that is why Haukar looked better.  But I don't claim to be a hoops aficionado, especially when half-ass watching via an ipad.
