Now let's just make sure Wes/DWade sign amazing contracts.  Quite a few days for #mubb in the nba.

Celtic Truth

I'm thrilled that Jae's staying in Boston. Love what he brings to the Cs. Now let's go out and get a stud(Aldridge)

Wow, better than I had hoped and so happy if that is accurate
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

What a difference a few months make!  Before getting traded to the Celtics, Jae had to be wondering if he was going to be able stick in the NBA much longer.  To go from that situation to this in less than a year is amazing.  Fantastic for him!  Nobody deserves it more.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Quite a pay day for Jae.  A little surprised, but wow! Way to go!

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

If he continues to develop, this will be considered a steal by the Celts

As much as I love Jae, he turns 25 next week.  I'm not sure there is much more room for development, although perhaps he can refine his three point shot.  The Celtics likely overpaid, but that isn't Jae's fault.

Fantastic.  #mubb making bank.  So happy for Jae.  He's a great fit on the Celtics.

BostonMUaler

Jae fits perfectly into the Boston system of what Stevens is trying to accomplish being a switchable physical defender.
Give Jae 2 years in the system and you will see similar growth Jimmy had after getting full summer work outs in a system he is comfortable in.
To say he is done progressing at 25 is just ignorant!

I'd say comparing Jae's upside to JFB's is ignorant, but I'd be happy if I am wrong.

I too thought Jae was on his way out of the NBA.  Seemed like salary cap filler---often a kiss of death to a young fringe player--- in the Rondo trade.  But Jae had a strong showing in Boston and earned a nice payday.  Weird to see role players getting $7 million per year.  I remember when that made Bobby Bonilla was the highest paid baseball player.  Sign of the times I guess.

Looks like Wes is talking w/Dallas, Sacramento, Toronto.  Dallas sounds reluctant to pay him $15 mil per year and want to pay him $10-12, due to him coming off of ACL injury.  Nothing against Jae, but it Jae is worth $7mil per year, and regardless of the injury Wes should warrant $15 mil per year.  Middleton got a max contract for christs sake!

Wow this is great news!  One way to interpret this contract is overpaying, or it could be that they see something that we don't.  Hopefully it's the latter.

One benefit of this contract is that Jae can play worry free, i.e., not having to worry about job security.  Of course, the safety net of a contract could mean that he becomes complacent, a la, say, John Salmons.  But that doesn't strike me as Jae's personality.

I have to say that I am disappointed about the Blazers potentially being broken up.  I REALLY liked the team that the Blazers put together.  A team that played very well together, everyone playing their respective roles really really well.  I bet my buddy that they would make it to the Finals (I know, I know, but he gave me 3:1 odds).

Jae deserved this. He is in a system that works well for him and the kid puts 110 percent effort every time he steps foot on the floor. I think he has a lot of growth potential as a player.

Good for Jae - but of course, he does not deserve this.

He has career averages of 5.8 pts., 2.8 rebounds, and 1 assist per game.

That does not deserve $35 MILLION.

Another example how so much of the NBA is landing in the right system at the right time. Same with Wes. I've always thought that there's plenty of players out there that could play pretty well in the NBA but just weren't put in the right system or on it at the right time (maybe a star player takes the minutes) Glad it worked out for Jae.

Very true.  Per 18min though. Not great and still doesn't warrant that money buttttt let's not act like he was playing full games or something

You correctly point this out, buttttt let's not act like he will play full games in the future.

We are just seeing the tip of the iceberg with Jae.  He made the most of his opportunity. Celtics think he is worth it.  Love that this is happening for him.

Latest on the rumor mill is Sacramento upped their offer from 3/$45 to 4/$64.  Wes would prefer Dallas to the ugliness of the Kings franchise, but the Mavs have to get in that ballpark.  And yes, hate to see the fun to watch, ready to turn the corner Blazers team reduced to Lillard and...Myers Leonard?

MUDent76

Celtic fans and Coach Stephens love Jae.  He ended up averaging 9.5 ppg and 4.6 rpg in 57 games incl 17 regular season starts before his knee injury.  He has turned into the emotional leader of the Celt's.  He is getting a lot of good press on TV and in the papers throughout New England.

GO MARQUETTE!
