You're joking, but I think Buzz would be a perfect fit at a place like Iowa St. Won't happen - he's not leaving Va Tech this soon.
Yes, you are right. He will be at VT as long as they want him!

Where did you hear that?

If that is true, either the President or Pollard screwed up when TJ was brought back to ISU.

Well he is a known cheater but I don't know if that will preclude him from getting the job. That has always been a joke, Hoiberg is loved and respected but they cheat something awful and TJ is the #1 culprit.

GGGG

I trust you have something substantive to back that up?

PGsHeroes32

Yeah first I'm hearing of cheating lol

I mean the team has racked up a few DWIs over what most coaches would want. But cheating?

Just the words of more than a few D1 coaches. That program is as crooked as they come.

I have heard that Iowa State has contacted players who are under scholarship at other universities to talk to them about transferring. However, I have heard that about most programs in D1. Hoiberg is just the most convincing.

Could Wally technically count as a track scholarship and be a walk on for basketball? Just curious. Not sure how this works. But wouldn't be shocked if we oversign and HE comes back that one Ellenson would be a walk on. Thoughts?

Yes it is....it is common sense. Look how many tansfers they have procured over the years. That is 'substantive.'

Put all those together. Don't make me name any names...

Yes cheating if he is contacting when they are on scholarship on another team and word gets to them that his kid wants to go.

I bet they tell kids friends to pass it along that we take you if you get mad and unsatisfed with your present team.

We'll take you.

Have any names been floated out there? I know TJ has been and is the front runnner.
Who is TJ? SPELL HIS NAME OUT...You assume I know who the heck that is?

maybe we can get Burton and McKay back, ai'na?
They would have to sit out another year to come back here? If so that is not happening.

Would love Burton back...pipe dream perhaps.

Uhh no it's not.

Saying you "heard" something without any proof of it is not substantive. Might want to brush up on the English language. Them having transfers isn't substantive either. Like at all...

I have substantive proof that Bryce Harper is actually a woman. I heard from numerous people. And look at all his different hairstyles. That is substantive.

If there was substantive proof, ISU would be under probation. They sure do have an uncanny knack for being first in line for every transfer. I'm sure it's just coincidence.

TJ is....TJ...

TJ Otzelberger.

If you read the thread, instead of coming here and demanding that we educate you, you would find that out pretty quickly.

No.  You cannot be a scholarship athlete in one sport and walk on for basketball or football.

They get most of their transfers from midwestern schools.  They are likely real aggressive about reaching out to people like AAU coaches when they get word that someone is going to transfer.  That isn't against the rules.

I mean, how do people think Marquette does it?

That Rowsey transfer is still a head scratcher to me. I think Wojo had much better options then only having 1 open scholarship for Coffey and transfers

I think Rowsey is a signal that Wojo didn't think he could land a quality PG in 2016. Rowsey can be the backup PG (or even the starter if he surprises) and Wojo now has 2 years to land a stud PG for 2017.

Washington will get the last 2016 scholarship. I'm very confident about that. However if Coffey wants to be here, a scholarship will appear. Either Henry going pro, Wally going to the Olympics, someone transferring, or Wojo not renewing the worst player's scholarship. Kostas I think only gets a schollie if two or more players leave or he truly skyrockets like Jerry Meyer seems to think he will.

I am very confident that if Coffey, Washington, and Kostas all want to come to MU, there will be sufficient schollies available.  It is the nature of most major D1 basketball programs these days.

So you feel confident that Iowa State is cheating, but don't know enough about their program to know the name of their lead assistant and head coach-elect?  Interesting...

But if we were to start a crappy football team, we could have what....65 or 85 basketball players on FB scholarships that would then walk on for hoops  ;D
