Celtic Truth

Matt Carlino will participate in the ncaa 3 point contest on April 2nd in Indy.

Good choice.  Go Matt!  This makes up for not making the tournament 2 years in a row.

4everwarriors

Hope he doesn't lose to a girl.

WTF? Are you serious. Nothing makes up for that!
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Not well. Finished 7th out of 8.

Let's put it in perspective.  There were thousands of players who weren't even invited to participate.

No shame in finishing 7th when you are already in elite company.
Have some patience, FFS.

Spotcheck Billy

they even forgot to announce his name with the other 7 shooters

Another point I'd like to add: Carlino is a real game shooter. This stand around and pop from a rack isn't his style. We all saw this year that once he gets into the flow of game situations, Carlino can wet it from near anywhere inside 30 feet.

Contest would be more fun if they had the contests shoot off screen.

True. But he didn't do well in this competition. He did well to get his name in the group, but that's pretty much it.

Nice event for Matt to be in but question level of motivation. 5th year senior and team sucked would sap energy out of me for awhile. If I were him I would be more interested in partying down there than three point contest.

True, but he was one shot from 4th. Had his moneyball from the top of the key hand on the rim and fall off, or he would have had 15.  Had three players between 14 and 15  and one at 11 with Matt at 13. Also, Jay Wright told me Matt had the quickest release nova had ever defended, so definitely a game-time shooter who was robbed of a dramatic winner against Georgetown!
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).
