Nice write-up. Seems like this year has been great for Anim emerging from Travis' shadow. Still surprised Minnesota never offered. Hope De La Salle can finish the job.

He is playing well tonight.

A ton of Marquette mentions by the announcer.  Probably doesn't  hurt that the announcer works with Jaon DeRusha, MU grad.

Found a stream here http://www.prep45.com/ for anyone interested but it costs $5, not worth it for me to watch half of a game.

My excitement for Anim just tripled.

He just glides down the court, looks very mature for HS player.

There's a couple of videos up at THIS Twitter feed.

Thanks for the link, Jay Bee.

The one where Sacar scores and then gets back to swat away a shot ... pretty damn impressive!

Let's not get too excited. The raves were great for JJJ, and he had a great state tournament also, and look at where we are now. Hopefully the kids keep progressing, but until we see how these frosh perform in the bigger time, we should be cautious.

They also interviewed his father at half time. Good interview.

You mean like Jimmy, Wes, DJO, & Jae Crowder?  I hate Buzz as much as the next guy, but recognize his accomplishments.

So 3 JUCOs and a senior?  Buzz had his most success with guys who had already been coached up by others at a level higher than high school.  Skill development wasn't a strength of his.  Nothing wrong with that, just how it was.  Some coaches are better at getting kids to play hard (Buzz).  Others are better at coming up with a system and developing kids for that (Bo).  Different ways to win.  Buzz's was to use talent and athleticism.  The most successful kids of his were those who had already had 2 years of weight training and coaching from others.

Wes was the 3rd or 4th scoring option under Crean and Butler was purely a rebounder/defender when he 1st set foot on the court.  So what if they were coached by other guys, every player is.  Jae was far from a finished product when he came to MU and Vander was a very good college player.  Aside from his last year Buzz was pretty good at getting guys to improve their play.

Also Vander.

And Gardner and Junior.

As you say, hating is fun, but sometimes a guy doesn't suck at everything.
