Who are you most enthused for their MU career to get underway (not including Henry E)?

Haanif Cheatham
Matt Heldt
Wally Ellenson
Traci Carter
Sacar Anim

HutchwasClutch

Now that the stench of this season is over, we can all look forward to better days of MU basketball with their consensus top 10 recruiting class.  So who are you looking forward most to putting on the blue and gold next fall? (answer would be way too obvious if Henry were included in this).

Cheatham gets my vote, versatile, athletic, can probably play multiple positions.
Heldt isn't too far behind, looking forward to his offensive game and range, but guessing a bigger learning curve for him given his size, and not as many minutes with Luke and Henry around.

Should be a fun and intersting 2015-16.

Groin_pull

Traci Carter. We've all seen the importance of having (or more accurately, not having) a top PG.
Hope Traci is that guy.

PVMagic

Sacar.  My dark horse pick for this class.

muhoops1

Matt Heldt. The next Matty Ice.

Aughnanure

Dammit I really was gonna pick Heldt cause I'm very enthused about his long-term upside alot, but went with Carter because he's going to have the most immediate responsibility and minutes right away...and now Heldt has zero votes :( . Come on people!

GooooMarquette

Cheatham.  He's the highest ranked player other than Henry, yet it seems there's more talk around here about all the others.  I'm sure their more recent commit status combined with the local player factor keeps others more on the radar, but this kid was in huge demand and now rarely is discussed around here.

muwarrior69

I think Wally will help us with rebounding. Getting those 2nd and third opportunities on the offensive side would be a plus for next season.

Traci Carter, I'm really looking forward to a fresh start at the point, though knowing our fanbase he'll be maligned in no time.

I don't think this is true. I personally am excited for a fresh start at the PG position and will support him no matter what, even though I'm sure there will be a lot of growing pains.

Wally.   He has experience, he has off the charts athleticism, he has a year in the program, he has size, he has a brother to push and be pushed by.

I read that Cheatham is the real deal and scouts down south say hes one of the best wings in the country!

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Wally. I don't know if he will be a solid all around player or not. But I do know we will witness some sick dunks next year

Similar to the raves about JJJ in HS, and there are lots here that have not felt that way this year.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Yeah, well, we have seen the deficiencies in many a player recruited by the phony lonesome cowboy (sorry, stealing your line, but I think it's funny).  So there's one difference right there.

MattyWarrior

Never saw Wally play, what are his pros and cons? He looks solid and has good size.

I picked Heldt, because in the long-run he is the best recruit. He will still be playing with us when Ellenson is gone after two years.

MUfan12

Was between Carter and Anim... went with Anim. He just seems like a winner. Mature kid that should be able to handle what the staff throws at him. Got great coaching in HS as well.

GoldenZebra

Whats with the Traci love? I get that the guy is a PG, but what else?

OrangeGreenGolden

Voted for Sacar. Love that he had to work his way up in the rotation in HS already. Preparation for the competition next year which I think will put him over others that have been THE GUY from early on in HS. Gets on the floor with his defense next year I think.

I think he is the Mariel Shayok of this class. Defense first sparkplug that has really nice potential on offense.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Junior's inability to shoot and propensity to turn the ball over had plenty of detractors. Buycks wasn't popular, most notably with the poster "nomorebuycks" who constantly bashed him. Even Dominic James was pretty regularly criticized for what he wasn't rather than what he was.

In the pre-message board era we went from Tony Smith to Tony Miller to Aaron Hutchins to Cordell Henry. When these sites were first getting going we had Travis Diener. We were used to pretty darn good point guards here.

Just about anyone would come up short next to that lineage. Hopefully that changes, but in the message board era, there will always be critics. If you're counting on the rationality of online fans, you have only to look at the banned guy you always seemed to agree with.

The nature of fans to aspire to the program's best. For some, if it isn't 1977, it will never quite be enough.

Really? You want to make that statement? What if it turns into a similar situation as the last 2 season? You certainly didn't seem to be able to do it this time...
